Collinite 845 Insulator Wax-initial review

I got a 4oz sample of 845 from fellow Autopian becks. Traded him a equal amount of Optimum Polish.

Not sure which version of 845 I got but it is a clearish tan, somewhat thick liquid, kind of reminds me of hair styling cream.

I first polished with Optimum Polish and then began applying 845. It kinds of glides on but with a somewhat heavy feel (slight drag) ala Meguiars 16. I applied two sections at a time then removed and again, it reminded me of #16, a little more pressure to remove than most other waxes and sealant but by no means difficult. It removed cleanly (no streaking). Applying it a section at a time made it wipe off a with less effort.

845 mostly reminds me of Natty's Blue in appearance, although 845's wetness has a richer glow to NB's bling-bling wetness.

I have a Mercedes ML to detail tomorrow that I wash conventionally about twice a month, the off weeks he runs it through a tunnel wash. I am going to use 845 on it to monitor the durability.

Hmm, I like it - has a more understated look then Natty's Blue, but still wet. I'm interested to see how the durability fairs on that MB cus I'm thinking maybe I will throw some on my car before the winter months. :(

I've not used near as many LSP's as you, on a scale of 5, what did you rate the slickness? I found it very slick myself. Maybe even more so after the first wash.

I think the slickness is decent, about the same as most carnaubas. What I have noticed with #870 Fleetwood is the slickness really holds up for a long time. The only other carnaubas I've noticed with the same trait is Meguiars #16 and to a somewhat less extent, Carnauba Moose. I am expecting 845 to be at least equal to 870 in long term slickness.
