Let me start off by saying these ARENT going to be put on during winter. Just wondering what I should do while they lay in my room. Wheel Wax or Collinite 845 for protection? Im just going to shine them up a bit with some quickshine before hand, then wax.

Nice...That is what I got on my Saleen. 265/35/18's up front and 295/35 in the rear.

Nice, exact tire setup I am going for as well. Summitomos however, since im poor lol.

Does that look like a burn mark in the last pic?

Yeah it looks like the finish has been rubbed off. A couple of my wheels look like that but smaller.

I seriously thought about buying those wheels for my 05. Saleen has always had some great looking wheels. Thats gonna be some big feet on the rear! U can put up to a 315/35R on that 10in wheel. I wonder if you could maybe clean that burn spot up with a powerball.

I hate that for ya, but atleast its on the inside of the wheel. Great selection on the wheels. Post some pics when u get'em mounted. When i got my wheels, i did the same thing. Put one by my tv in the living room.

If you are going with the Sumitomo HTR Z II's time to change your plans. The widest tire they make for 18s is only a 285/35/18. Too skinny for a 18x10. It WILL work but will look kind of funky.

I would go with the 295/35/18 Kumho Ecsta MX instead. Still priced very competitively. Much wider and a better tire in dry and wet conditions. I had the 285/35/18 Sumitomos on the 18x9 Saleen fakes when they were first released. The 285/35/18s were kinda small on the 18x9's.

Not trying to burst your bubble but instead save you from disappointment.

Original poster: I would definately get a couple of coats of wax on them. The mark you are referring to is a result from the chroming process. I would send a pic to jeff at wheel replicas and see what he said.

He is correct I have the 285's on my 18x10's only because it was easier to have them already mounted and balanced (through mustangtunning.com) free and just bolt them on. My next set will be 315's....

EDIT: here a pic of them on (to narrow for my taste but was the easiest way for me at the time of purchase so no regrets on my part)

Yea I remember reading somewhere a while ago that there were no 195 Summitomos :down

I think I might have to go with the Kumhos. How much are the MX's?
