hi there i just bought 22 inch rims and tires for my 08 ford explorer and was wondering how you guys would recommend keeping them clean. like would just a wheel cleaner like atoz wheel cleaner or chemical guys wheel cleaner be safe on them. Thanks

yes, but i would consider waxing the wheels with a good wax and then wash regularly you general will be able to wash them with your car wash solution. wheel cleaners that i have used long term with no ill effects are p21s, griots, and hi-temp (ht-710).

i use optimum metal polish on my chrome wheels. it supposed to clean, polish, and seal them. so far it does make them look very nice. have not been using this product long enough to say if the sealant in it lasts long or not

Clean with P21S Wheel Gel (diluted at 50/50 if the wheels are in good shape). P21S is safe for all wheels.

Clay the wheels if needed and then throw on 2-3 layers of PB Wheel Sealant or Wheel Wax on the fronts and 1-2 layers on the rears and with regular maintenance the brake dust should come right off. For show I hit my wheels with FK 425 once they are cleaned up, it doesn't last due to the heat, but they shine while its on.

i use fk 1000p or upgp as my wheel sealant. currently try opti-seal as a wheel sealant. with the wheels sealed i rarely have to use more than onr to get them clean.

i'm not the only one there are others here that have use os on wheels. fk1000p seems to be the sealant of choice for wheels i just thought i give os a try since it was already in my hand and the wheels were clean.

its okay to use as long as its says its okay for chrome. i would not use it regularly over an extended period of time. i would consider some of the previously mention cleaners and/or sealants for regular (weekly) cleaning of the wheels.
