Chem Guys Fabric Clean..

That's a good sign. I purchased it last night with a decent sized order and I am hoping it works as well as I think it will.

I can't wait, I might be placing an order for some of the stain remover today, also looking into their multipurpose cleaner and degreaser... How is their wheel/rim cleaner?

Well, I do own a gallon of it, but I haven't used it yet. If it's anything like their leather cleaner is, I don't think we have anything to worry about.

imo it works great. the only question i have is do the fabric clean and lighting fast stain extractor look exactly the same? i have a gallon of the fabric clean but it looks exactly like the lighting fast stain extractor, it has the fabric clean label so i assume its the right thing. i just don't know:confused:

IIRC, I remember them looking different. Fabric clean has a thicker consistency, similar to NXT car wash while the Lightning Fast Stain extractor was more liquidy. I could be wrong though because when I went into their store, I was more interested in their Fabric Clean since the description of LFSE seemed like it was a better spotter than shampooer. Fabric Clean also has a lemon-citrus scent to it.

I'll try to give a really quick initial review of Fabric Clean, but to be honest with you it's not completely fair for me to do a comparison of this product to my usual interior carpet cleaning product, which is Meg's APC+ but I always added Oxiclean.

This time when I did my interior, I did not use any Oxiclean. Also, this was the first time my interior carpets and mats had ever been washed or shampooed in the 6 years I've owned the car, so I'm sure many of the stains were permanently set.

As far as cleaning power, it did not seem to be as effective as Meg's APC+ with Oxiclean. I was expecting my carpets to come out a bit cleaner, but I can't say for sure if I can blame that on Fabric Clean. The product does do a good job at deodorizing your carpet and leaving a light, lemon-fresh scent behind. Also, Fabric Clean seems to leave your carpets looking "newer" than Meg's APC+. It's not necessarily cleaner looking, but if I had to give an analogy, it's like waking up in the morning with your hair in somewhat of a mess vs. combing it nicely. Fabric Clean left it looking nice and neat.

It's too early for me to say whether I like or hate this product, but one thing I do not like about this is that it suds/foams like crazy unlike Meg's APC+, which hardly foams at all. The foaming bothers me because I only have an LGCM, and it was hard for me to pull up all the solution out with the amount of time I had. I made pass after pass and it seemed like the solution was still in the carpet. Luckily though, it didn't dry with any sticky soap residue. So just a hint of advice, don't go pouring this solution onto your mats because it'll just add more work.

Also, as far costs are concerned, without doing any mathematics I believe Meg's APC+ comes out to be cheaper, because the dilution ratio for doing interior carpets on that is something like 54:1 IIRC while Fabric Clean's dilution is 20:1. Plus, Meg's APC+ has more uses for it. I made a gallon solution and I ended up just wasting product. Because of the foaming issue, you don't need as much solution as you normally would.

Again, I'd like to point out that this really isn't a fair comparison especially since Fabric Clean is a shampoo while Meg's APC+ is just an all-purpose cleaner. Hope this helps for now!

I recently tried the Fabric Clean on badly stained car mats - grease as well as year old coffee stains, and it came out perfect.

The foaming is a little annoying, but it certainly takes some time to get out.

Sweet. Are you using it 54:1 in the LGCM tank? I've been spraying it on with a spray bottle at 10:1, never thought of diluting it more. I'm using APC now but would really like to get some APC+, because like you said the foaming issue, plus it smells better.

I actually went out to read the jug of Meg's APC+ and the actual dilution ratio is 20:1 for cold water extractor, 64:1 for hot water extractor. It was 64:1 that I used, not 54:1 as I incorrectly stated before.

I've never used any solution in the LGCM tank, just hot tap water. I also use hot tap water to mix up my solution for cleaning the carpet.

Thanks BlackElantraGT!

I'm definitely going to order some APC+ now. 64:1 is great, even at 20:1 would be fine. 65 gallons of carpet cleaner for about $15. :)

as far as fabric clean and lightning fast both work great imo....the main difference is fabric clean needs to be wiped up with a clean damp cloth or extracted...lightning fast was designed as a spray and scrub on stain dissolver...its best to wipe it up or extract it but not necessary...if you ask the CG guys they actually recommend the smartwax carpet cleaner...has the most surfactants and degreasers....

Haven't used the Fabric Clean, but I've used the Lightning Fast and it works very good. Just like orngez said, work in and walk away.

I'm just curious, is the dilution ratio for APC different than APC+? Is Meg's Detailer APC not recommended for carpet cleaning?

APC is recommended for carpet cleaning, just not with an extractor because of the foaming. On the bottle is states 4:1 for heavy cleaning and 10:1 for medium cleaning.
