Carnauba Moose Wax Cleaners??

Are there cleaning agents in CMW? I just bought a bottle of CMW and EXP today and the CMW reaked of chemicals!



I was thinking of fooling around and layering CMW with other waxes but now I am hesitant.



So, would CMW just be a base wax to have another wax layered on top of it? Or should it be left alone?



Do any of you top CMW? Do any of you top other waxes with CMW?



Also, about how long in general can you expect CMW to remain durable given my NorthEast climate with pretty heavy acid rain?



The search button on this issue didn't yield much.



I'm excited to try out my 2 news products! Just looking for some guidance with it.

I believe CMW is strictly a topper wax. I would not top CMW with anything, that would be kind of a waste IMO. CMW looks great on top of Vanilla Moose, Klasse SG, Poorboys EX, EX-P, WG, Poorboys PwC, and Meguiars NXT.



Experiment with topping various sealants, polishes, and glazes with CMW, but I really wouldnt experiment topping CMW with other waxes.



I have found CMW to be less durable than S100, but they produce very different results. The cars I use CMW on I like to wax every 2 months during the rain season.



You will LOVE EX-P!!! It is one of my favorite products. Great results everytime.

Thanks for the input. Based on the petroleum distillate label, I thought I would layer the waxes you mentioned on TOP of CMW, not BELOW the CMW. :nixweiss
 
In my experience, it's strong enough to remove a sealant underneath. I would use a lower solvent, paste wax instead.
 
CMW has a petroleum base with carnauba added. It is meant as a last step product and probably wouldn't work best over a sealant. Honestly, I would only use a paste wax over a sealant if you want to maintain the durability of the sealant.



I am getting well over 3 months of beading and slickness with CMW in the Dallas area but we get no acid rain or industrial fallout here so I can't answer how long it would last in your area. Besides enviromental conditions, washing techinique, sun exposure, etc also affect durability.
