Best way to clean......

I have never tried anything more than a damp MF and some steam..They don't get very dirty usually.. But I would also like to know this.. A real PITA to even wipe with the MF..
 
right now i use some spray cleaner , spray it on the mf and lightly wipe but i make sure its not to damp so i dont leave water spots. it works pretty good i just want to improve my skills!!!
 
I pre-treat headliners with a mild cleaner/de-odorizer. After a few minutes, I take my steamer with a terry-cloth towel wrapped around the triangle attachment and steam the area. For heavily soiled headliners (smoker cars), I'll do the same thing plus take a clean terry-cloth towel and wipe the area lightly until the grime has been removed. Works great for me.
 
A dry foam cleaner on a MF towel with some citrus cleaners in it is by far the best and easiest way to clean headliners that I've ever come across. Foam works much quicker and better than sprays do for this type of application.

I have used Bissell's LGM with warm water with no issues. I had to clean a headliner in a smoker's vehicle (newer Mustang) and it turned out great. The guy works for me and he hasn't had any issues with it.

Low pressure plus a towel folded over twice and wrapped around the steamer attachment keeps it from being to harsh. The nice thing about steaming the headliner is that it not only cleans, it does a great job deodorizing. A lot of odors (smoke especially) are in the headliner so deodorizing this area does wonders.
