Best tire dressing out there?

I know I am going to get a tremendous amount of crap for this, but here goes... The new Armor All extreme tire shine. It's a gel so applying it is pretty painless especially with the applicator it comes with. Also, it lasts a pretty long time, where long means something like "won't sling off the first 2 drives".

As far as how it looks, it gives a very deep black, there's no hiding from that, but it doesn't give a "grease" shine where you'll see your own reflection in.

Depends what you want? New tire look? Wet? Shine?

I use Zaino Z16. It's the best for what I want and is very durable unlike the ones sold in stores.

I doubt you will get much crap. Thats a very popular dressing here.

Its a great OTC offering.

great tire dressing and one bottle lasts a long time...

I have used Forever Black which is a dye and it lasts for many months/years. PITA to apply and do NOT get it on you. I like the look which is extremely black with moderate sheen. I also use it to restore old gray plastic trim on old Jeeps. If you get it on your wheels or paint lacquer thinner will take it off.

I haven't seen anyone mention Adam's VRT.... I wonder if anyone who's tried it has liked it (not that I've ever tried it myself)

I've gone to solvent based dressings. Honestly, I've almost every water based dressing I've used doesn't last worth a nickel.

It shouldn't last, if it's soluble in water, it means .... it will dissolve in water! I can understand the enviro friendly argument with water based stuff but I think the advertisements have to be more careful not to start contradicting themselves on their water based offerings.

anything out there thats OTC and does not sling at all? I hate getting this crap all over my wheels and all over the bottom of my car cover!

Like I said, I think Armor All extreme tire shine gel is pretty good, it won't sling all over the place like a liquid. To make extra sure I suggest you literally just put enough to fill the line and no more then work it into the tire, you'll have to work a little harder but this means you won't get any excess. If you need more just put a drop and go at it again.

No thanks, i used that crap before and never again. not only did it cake my custom knitted car cover, the **** also went all over the wheels too. The only thing i use from armor all is their big WW drying towel.

I just applied Mother's Reflections Tire Care today. It was very easy. I sprayed it onto a foam applicator and spread it on the tire. I let it dry for 5 minutes or so and then wiped off. It left a natural matte finish, which I prefer over high gloss looks. I drove the car a couple of hours later and did not have any problem with sling (but I did clean my tires well beforehand). I do not know about Reflections's durability, but given that it is water-based, I do not expect more than a couple of weeks.

Okay I'm going to again toot the horn for Tuf Shine, If you use the search feature you will find a thread I started on this about 10 months ago.

I REALLY like the stuff. The durability is amazing, its water based, it can be touched up if needed, and lasted a long harsh winter here. It is like a clear coat for the tires. You can control the amount of gloss by how many layers you use, or use a slightly damp applicator will produce a more matte finish.

I also like z16, for low profile tires.

Cheers,

Greg
