Best Drying Towel I Have Used!!

I thought my Meguiar's Water Magnets WW towels were nice towels but I recently got a WW from OCDGarage.com: Ultimate Silk Bound Waffle Weave Towel (25 X 36)

Right out of the package this towel makes my Meg's Water Magnets feel like sand paper!!! Sure that is an exaggeration but there really isn't a comparison. The OCD towel is much softer.

So today I had a chance to use it to see how well it dried the car. I was amazed at how well it held onto the water. I didn't even have to flip it over, I just used the same side for the entire car.

As you can tell, I haven't used many "boutique" towels so others may be as good, but I can say that this one is the best I have used and I ordered two more to go with it.

if you ever want to try something else out, try the CG's waffle weave. it's the softest (feels like a baby blanket) waffle weave drying towel (have many different ones) i have ever felt!

That CG's towel looks just like the one I have fro OCD. I'd be close to betting money that all three places sells the same one (or close to it).

My wife thought it was a baby blanket when she opened the box.

I looked on the CG site and don't see that one listed.

I would assume that many of the higher end shops get their MF's made by the same company. I have handled a few from different company's that look and feel identical. But maybe some offer one offs that only they offer.

I bought two ww's from pakshak just to see. My wife had already opened the package and was washing them when I got home. She thought they were baby blankets or towels. I gave her one to use on the baby and damned if it isn't the softest baby towel. She wonders if they sell an adult size like 3.5' by 5'. She usually uses an egyptian cotton towel on the baby and now she wants more ww's for the baby. :2thumbs:

OK, here is my take on the best WW's I have found. First is the CG's WW that others, like bigal3, have mentioned. I ordered one after reading about it here and it is very soft like a baby blanket, but it sells for $14.95.

I then read about the Excel Monterey WW and ordered 3 of those which are identical to the CG towel, but it sells for just $10.49..... same great towel but you save some $$$$$.

I had a few Sonus WW's I bought back when Autopia had a big MF sale and finally got around to opening them up. I was pleased to discover that two of them are made with the same very soft WW material as the CG and Excel Monterey. The Sonus MF-204 is the same light blue color but has a dark blue silk/satin border and sells for $12.00. The next Sonus towel made out of the same material is the MF-200. The only difference is the color, yellow with a red silk/satin border. The picture on the Autopia store shows a tag, but these have no tags, so that must be a picture of the older style. This towel normally sells for $15.00, but I noticed that it is currently on sale: 1 for $12, 2 for $20, or 3 for $24.

All four of these towels are about the same size with the same soft WW material that I find to be the most absorbent that I have ever used. My opinion, after looking at each of these very closely, is that they are basically the same towel. If you want a blue one then the best buy is the Excel Monterey at $10.49 with the great service that Excel has always provided. If you want a different color, and want to save even more money then buy three of the Sonus MF-200's for $24 ($8 each). Factor in the 10% Autopia discount and you have a deal that is hard to beat on the best WW material I have found.

I'm sure there are other great WW's made out of the same material, but those are the four that I have personally had my hands on and can verify how great they perform.

Once I discover a WW that I like as well as these I like to stock up when I find a good price..... so excuse me while I place an order for some of the Sonus MF-200's while they are still on sale ;) .

thanks for your input. :)

from the pics, yellow sonus towel doesn't seem to have silk/satin border...maybe they didn't update the pic?

Yes, that is a picture of the older style towel, the current version has the silk/satin border and no tag to worry about having to remove.

Near the end of the description of the towel it says, "We have improved the Sonus Ultimate Drying Towel again! The latest version of our best selling drying towel now comes with a soft satin binding."
