Best 1 drying towel to use on multiple cars

Go get a portable leaf blower at Home Depot. They have a Toro for like $27. Or use a wet/vac that converts into a blower.

The Cali water blade is a good idea too.

But, I wouldn't spend a penny of my own money to help the dealer out. Ask if they have a budget for their cleaning supplies and see if you can get them to include more MF towels. You can probably get them cheap, in bulk, at many of the MF places LIKE HERE Also, see if you can get them to hook up with bulk product companies like Auto Magic or Chemical Guys where the prices are very affordable and yield nice results.

If you are working on brand new cars, try to explain the benefit of using the right products and that a small one time investment will yield excellent results and less potential for customer dissatisfaction in the long run.

Given your young age, enthusiasm, willingness to do the job right and desire for quality workmanship, might peek the interest of the right people there and help you out with moving up the food chain. Hey, maybe they'll be wise and open a detail department and you'll be manager! Imagine, a real detailing place inside a dealer?!

Well, I used the air gun today and the other employees complained about the noise so I think a blower would be out of the question.

The water blade I was thinking about but truthfully I have to wash, dry, clean windows inside and out, take off all plastic (you'd be suprised to see how much there is!), remove any stickers, etc all within 20 mins or so, so when washing I dont really get it spotless and I would be really in for it if I took that water blade across an area I didn't clean completely and make a nice little scratch in a brand new car.

As for MF, I actually sell MF and CGs (starting to) but I think I'm still too new to start suggesting things. Maybe later. I am trying to push my stuff on other dealers though. ;)

Currently I work in the "detailing" department as a porter. I would like to become the manager, but we'll see, even if I worked way harder than anyone else, I'm still the new guy and the other three detailer have worked there at least a year and one for 4 years. I might get a manager position at another place that will be opening soon. ;)

I tried the Absorber (one I had bought a year ago and used twice then realized how much it sucks and stored it) but it was worse than wringing out WWs, so back to storage it goes untill I forget how much it sucks again. lol

Thanks for all the suggestions, but still, I'm going back to the chammy. :( Its the best for the job I guess.

That's the problem. It was the same way with me. I was expected to wash/dry the car, clean the windows, dress the tires, and dust the interior in about 30 mins. It's obvious why the cars on dealer lots look like crap.

The Absorber is something I've been using to dry most of the time despite having some WW towels. It's easy to wring out and performs consistently. It's also tough (but gentle). Easily washed to get out contaminants or dirt. I sometimes follow up with a smaller WW if needed.

A lot of dealers use a Water Sprite. I use a Water Sprite, I think that its the best phony chamois out there, much better then the Absorber. You can get them at Car Quest or NAPA.

I second the Water Sprite. Buy the biggest one. I find they work better after they form the little "teets" of use. With the little "teets" you just have to glide it over the surface, with no pressure. They are free rinsing and soft enough to absorb some dirt.

They tend to not dry 100% spot free, but outside you can't see the spots.

I work at at a used car dealership so it gets used alot.

I find them gentle as i do some work for an auto body shop and wash new soft black paint with no problems.

I got the Water Sprite, well see how it works. The biggest Napa had was pretty small, but hopefully it works good.

Thanks guys

Pakshak still has stocks of the so-called "irregular" WWs. I have four of them and can't find anything wrong with them. They look perfect to me.

They're at half price - $9! Outstanding product and, at that price, unbeatable value.

$9 each is still a lot when you would have to buy a bunch of them. Besides the ones I sell, I sell less than that and obviously get them cheaper than my resale price.

Pontman it takes a long time to wear them out, but then you can use them for door jams or engine bay etc.

Just picked up a 'Water Sprite' at the local NAPA for $7.49. It measures 13.75 x 23 in. Thanks for the suggestion.

ID# is 760-1102 - 326 sq in.
