Been too long since the Max had a complete exterior detail

I washed my car yesterday, and took a long look at it. "It needs to be detailed again" I thought to myself. "The whole deal, with clay and everything!"

Here it was, begging for the whole process...

So I did:

Wash with NXT

Mothers Clay (NXT soap and distilled water for lube)

GEPC by PC on 3 with a Meg's 9006 Finishing pad

UPP by hand

And I saw it glowing in the light of sunset tonight, and had to take pictures. They aren't the best pictures, but you can see how wet the paint looks.

******I need some help WhiteMax*******

I've got a digital camera & I have no idea how to post pics of my "BlkTac05" (2005 Black Tacoma) on a thread. Could you PM me with some tips????

Thanks!

I sold the wheels :(. I made a profit on them though :). Notice my sig. I'm looking for a newer car with less mileage and better fuel economy.

It's hard to say. I think the reflections got a bit clearer, since all those built-up layers of wax from winter may have obscured the clarity of the reflections.

It's definitely a lot slicker though! I hadn't clayed the car since last summer, and the UPP definitely helped the slickness too!

When are you getting your new wheels on? Aren't you just chomping at the bit to get them on? Or did you give up now that you are looking at a different car!

Nice job BTW, you really like UPP on the Max huh? Looks like a good choice for white, nice job Paul!:D

I sold my new wheels. I made a profit of $11.00 on them. :) It was still sad to see them go though...particularly because I never got to put them on. :(

I will get new wheels for the Protege though. I already have them picked out.

BTW I have Nattys over the UPP now, and it looks even better! I'll post some pics later...going fishing now. :)

Lookin good Paul, especially for the age.

Did the clay pick up a lot? How long since the last detail? Does it stay out 24-7? How often is it driven?

The clay picked up some stuff...not nearly like the last few cars I've detailed of course. If it picks up anything, I say it's worth it. Why go through the whole detailing process but not start it off perfectly?

The last FULL exterior detail was in October I believe. I finished AIO + UPPx3 in early November I think, and had just been adding a layer of PG every month or so over the winter.

Yes it is usually outside 24/7. Driven every day, unless it's snowing bad, which prompts me to take one of my parents' vehicles (my Potenza RE950s are terrible in snow). It also keeps my car clean by leaving it in the garage. :)
