Most of those pix scream "DRIVER ERROR!" to me, to the extent that I'd hate to share the road (or even the planet) with such people. Yeah, yeah...insert qualifier: "assuming the incidents happened on public roads".

I find such [stuff] so irritating I'm having trouble deciding how to rate the thread!

Not to say it's *always* their fault, but money =/= brains. What a mess! Some of those collisions looked to be incredibly fast considering the parts that broke.

Well, I *was* thinking that some of those folks spent a lot on hardware and not enough on, uhm... upgrading the organic software ;) Clearly over their ability level by a country mile.

But some of the, uhm...affordable vehicles were examples of the same thing. [Edited to remove specific, and snarky, observation about one of the less expensive cars...]

S. Florida is not only the hot bed for hack detailers, but it's a molotov cocktail for weathly crappy drivers from all over the world. Much more money than brains in driving applications yet they think they're invincible and everyone with get out of their way! Oh well...job security for me.

Yup, new style Accord. Nope, not sure what's on it?? I parked next to this one @ a Body Shop. Didn't have a chance to snoop around. Looks like it killed the paint pretty good and must have been super strong stuff?

Like your new Avatar btw...

LMAO! at the "Hot Wheels" Grand Marquis!

Nice pics Daivd! Seen a lot of messed up cars come through my dads shop back in the day....never the exotics like that though! Thanks for sharing!

I wonder if its driver replaced it with something more substantial  My wife says those things "Look like prey".

They sure do hold up well in crashes though. Do a YouTube search, you'll find a video of a Smart Car hitting a brick wall at 60mph, interior is in great condition. I had one as a rental once, drove 1200 miles and only cost about $50 in gas !

As a) a very conservative guy when it comes to auto styling, and b) one of Autopia's resident Panther Platform fanatics, I uhm....had some opinions about that poor old Grand Marquis.

But yeah, other than the gas tank issue when they get rear-ended, those cars are great for surviving accidents. And the tank issue can be sorted out in various ways.
