Any experience with PB QW+?

I have many of the Poorboy's World products and I love all of the ones I have. They have all performed exceptionally well. The only one that is not one of my favorite products is S&G. While I do use it, I can't say it is my favorite QD.

So, I thought I'd give PB Quick Wax Plus a try. I made the mistake of not reading the directions. It has a sprayer so I shook it up well and pumped a spray on the hood of my car. YIKES! Wax went every where! It splattered all over the hood, on my windshield and bumper. I had an MF to wipe it off and I found it was difficult to remove. It smeared and I had to do a lot of wiping to remove it.

I then read the directions I saw that you are supposed to spray the product on an applicator or MF. I have not tired this yet but it begs the question: what is the point? I mean if I have to spray it on an applicator first then how is this different from using one of the PB paste waxes?

I want to try it again as I think highly of PB products. Can anyone offer any advice on the best way to use this product? What your experience is like? How well it works?

Thanks!

It is interesting to see that the pictures on Poorboy's site and the picture at the Detail City Store don't show a spray top while the AG picture does.
Both PB's and DCS's instructions say "Wipe or buff on" while AG's say to spray on.
It seems like the method of application shouldn't make a tremendous amount of difference.
Maybe you just have a defective spray nozzle.

I hadn't thought of that. It came with a spay top.

I use the PB QW+ all the time. I had that problem the first time I used it too. It can get messy and all over the place. I use a PB MF applicator and apply a thin layer to the whole car then buff off with a DMT. It is easier to use than the Natty's waxes obviously because of it's liquid form. The QW+ has mild cleaners which sets it apart from the Natty's which has no cleaners. That's why it's good to fresh up your existing wax. I usually throw a coat on every 3 weeks or so. This way I'm not taking too much of my wax and sealant off.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try. By the name I was thinking it makes it "Quick" sort of a spray on wipe off like the Pinnacle Souvern Spray wax.

What is a "DMT"?

Like previously said, I like to use QW+ as a refresher between complete details. It will clean and refresh the current wax on the vehicle. I usually spray it on larger panels and wipe it on tighter areas. I also like to spray away from the cowl or plastic trim. It can buffed right in and off or as also previously stated you can wipe it on the whole car and then buff. I've also used it with a finishing pad on the pc to get a really nice glowing wax look:rockon

Thanks for all the comments and advice. Today I tried again and this time I was much more pleased with the product. Clearly it was user error before! I adjusted the spray nozzle to spray a wider thinner pattern. I lightly sprayed some on the hood and used an MF applicator to spread it evenly. It dried quickly and I buffed it off with an MF. It was easy to remove.

I'm glad you had good results the second time around. It is a quality product that does not get alot of attention

Did a quickie on my mail box the other day with it.:bigups

My girls used it to shine up their go cart too. It is super fast and easy to use. The results are pretty darn good to.

Is QW+ the same thing as QD+?
I,ve seen a black bottle with a blue and white sprayer but the label says QD+:hmmm:

we did a name and formula change a few years back to become VOC compliant and also change the misunderstanding of it being used as a QD. It should be used on a clean surface (no dirt) but it does do cleaning of wax and finishes. :)

But it doesn't removef the existing wax does it?

Sounds like there has been a spark of interest in this product. That's what i like to see. Try it and you won't be disappointed.

So this is like a quick "booster wax"?

If so I may have to give it a try.

"J"

exactly ... it was initially intended for show cars that wanted a bit more carnauba boost at a show or between shows to maintain and prolong periods between details :)
