AIO + EX-P+ = EXtra Wet with EXtra Color Depth

NavindraLR stopped over today to exchange some products with me and to watch me work the rotary over the vertical surfaces. He only lives about 10 mins away so no big drive :). I'd hope to do my mom's new Silverado, but I have extra plans for it, so not enough time.

Not the best conditions today (High 30's, cloudy, and a bit damp), but I made due.

Final processes

-Mother's Gold Wash

-A2Z on Wheels, Tires, and Weels (First time using and I like it A LOT)

----clayed 1 month ago, so no need----

-AIO via rotary and LC polishing pad @ 1500rpm

-EX-P+

-WG Tire Gel

Final Thoughts

I had #80/EX-P applied on here about a month ago. The shine, slickness when washing/drying, and beading were all pretty much there. It had been washed 2 times since then through the automatic car wash :( ...My dad is lazy when I'm not around. It had swirling and AIO only took out a little bit of it. No biggie, because it will be driven through the automatic all winter.

For the AIO, I felt it left excellent clarity. Navindra and I compared the Klasse AIO writing from the bottle on 2 doors (AIO vs. #80/EX-P). After that, I applied EX-P+ by hand with a foam applicator. This stuff spread forever! I don't think there is a measurable difference in the sample bottle I recieved because I used soo little. I noticed a slight darkening in the color, but it really brought out the deeper red and metallic flakes, as Navindra pointed out quickly as I flipped on the exterior light from my house (all pics from this came out blurry :(). The wetness had also increased a lot. I let the EX-P+ dry for 10 mins BTW, and it came off with ZERO effort. So far, this product is a PLUS ;) over the regular EX-P. I noticed no problems with it's thickness as it applies like butter over a hot pan :)

Clouds today, snow tomorrow, and clouds Wednesday so I said screw it and grabbed pics today anyways. When it gets nicer again, I will go for EX-P+ x 2 to insure maximum durability for the winter.

Have you ever tried VM under EX-P to compare it to AIO? Just curious as to which one looks better.

I like how VM is SO easy to use and also how well it works on all the plastic, rubber, and glass but I do find that AIO prepped the surface better than VM does. Just from the mere fact that everyone raved about VM under EX and EX-P, I've never actually tried AIO under them, yet AIO IMO is a better prep than VM is.

VM is a touch wetter compared to AIO's slightly more glossy look. I wanted the EX-P+ to bond properly, hence the use of AIO.

So you DO notice a decrease in performace when VM is used? I've often wondered this due to the oil content in the VM.

AIO via the rotary, never heard of that combo, how'd it work out? have you used it with the rotary before?

Awesome. I'm becoming a big AIO. You gotta respect a product like Klasse that endures with pristine reputation year after year with little or no major marketing.

A2A is superb-probably the best wheel cleaner and the most easilt found one as well. A rave review from Guru Reports as well. Advanced Auto Parts will occasionally knock a buck or two off the price. I go in buy 2-3 bottles and pick up a couple of EO Tire Swipes while there.

That PT looks soaking wet!! :xyxthumbs

I see your Pop's 2001 Cobra hiding in the garage...when do we get to see that one detailed?? :D

Sean, the PT looks great!

....... I let the EX-P+ dry for 10 mins BTW, and it came off with ZERO effort.

I think AIO helped with that:nixweiss I had a PITA removing a second coat off my wife's Golf and also removing it off my Yukon (after FP). I applied a second coat on the Golf after about 3wks of applying the initial coat and it was very difficult to remove. I needed to really work it to remove it and use a QD to remove all the remaining residue. Also becareful around trim..it stains.

As far as appearance it's awesome on metallic paint, on black though, I did a side by side and saw no difference between EX-P and EX-P+

Jason: Not necessarily. It would probably look a touch wetter with VM, but compliance issues with a sealant leave me hesitant.

L33: Done it a few times. I make light pressure passes and don't buff one area too much. I noticed a definite difference after using the AIO.

Lee: Yeah, Navindra mentioned today he loves the stuff. I think I may be jumping on the bandwagon as well :lol ...I just loved how I saw everything melt off :)

Mike: That thing hasn't seen the road in about 2 months :( ...Pretty sad, but it has Wolfgang and Natty's on now :) ...It's usually covered too, gonna have to ask why not anymore.

blkyukon: Yeah, the metallic flakes were definately more pronounced now. I'm looking forward to seeing it when the sun decides to re-appear.

I really have no good shots of it. I haven't been able to coordinate a nice day and a good QD/Detail for it. He also has a speedster cover for it. Looks like the Batman Mobile then :)

BTW: WG Twins/Natty's

Holy Cow! That PT looks superb! I'm looking forward to trying EX-P+............ that's for sure!

Geez, does that PT look WET! Nice to know it is a piece of cake to use in cooler temps, I have a feeling we are going to have way more of that then I want this year.

Supposed to be in the low 70s on Monday and Tuesday, around 40 with a chance of snow and ice on Wednesday! Low of 19 on Thursday with a high around 40...but well into the 50s by the weekend. Typical Dallas rollercoaster winter.

I did the AIO via rotary like sean told me to I'm not sure if it's easier or not because it was my second time but i'm guessiing it will help with the checial cutting and take out some imperfections..

patrick

yup.. today ended up being a good day.. talked a lot about cars/detailing and caught up on everything. i was finally able to watch someone use a rotary in action.. about time... damn.. sean makes it look so easy ;)

cant wait to see the silverado.. maybe i can stop by for that one too.. lol... i think i slow you down though

:D

Scott: That's pretty crazy how much of a rise and drop there is there.

Patrick: It's a little getting used to. It gummed up a bit for my yesterday. I probably should of slowed it down a tad, but I think the weather wasn't on my side either. I just used S+W to remove residue and kept going.

Navindra: Once this snow melts, I will let you know when I am doing it. Most definatley sometime this week.

nice work sean. ex-p+ looks very interesting, i'm looking forward to it. :)

and nice cobra. too bad it's 'corralled' like that. :D i guess it being a 'vert makes it too cold to drive in the winter.
