A modded Rally Blue Subaru WRX STi

Evening all,

I did this detail yesterday but haven't had a second to post up the results. This detail came out great but started bad. I saw the car and thought it would only be minor dirt/grime on the lower panels but it really turned out to be a heavy amount of IFO, brake dust, grease, and grime. Between QEW, APC, Bug and Tar Removers, and Clay, I could only get 75% removed. The polishing took the remaining staining away. It wasn't fun to deal with and I have no idea how it got so bad in only a year.

Anyways, started with the interior. It was more sandy/dusty than anything. In the after shots, there is a glare on the rubber insert on the mat, it wasn't dirt/discoloration. Final processes:

-Vacuum

-303 Spot Remover and Simple Green/Water mix on the carpets/mats

-APC 10:1 to clean vinyl, rubber, plastic

-Adam's VRT to protect/dress

-NXT Glass Cleaner on glass and gauges

-Simple Green cut 6:1 to degrease door jams

-Adam's Detail Spray then OCW on door jams

Any comments, questions, concerns, feel free...

Looks awesome, is the EO wheel cleaner the "wheel acid"?

I have a source for the EO pro stuff locally now. I am thinking of picking up the water based dressing, acid, all purpose degreaser, wash and wax, and maybe a few of the polishes and compounds.

Anyway, great detail, I can't imagine tring to clean an engine without a water source. I guess you just adapt and overcome. :D Looks GREAT!!!

Thanks everyone.

MacAlert: I take pictures of every detail I do :).

Joe: Nope, its the Spray On, Rinse Off Wheel Cleaner. It's just like EOA2Z just much cheaper and you should dilute it 50/50. It's very cost effective and gets 90% of the wheels I do, clean. The acid will get the rest.

Let me know how the rest of the line is :).

BoxterCharlie: I am not positive on the mods. I know the exhaust is Invidia and he drives the car the way its meant to be driven :). Those are lightweight rims and lug nuts (Rota and Rays, respectively). He had his laptop plugged into the ECU when I got there and was doing some logging. Under the hood there is a bunch of audio mods and a couple bolt ons here and there. I think hes only on the Subbie forums, so hopefully others will chime in on his mods here.

Very impressive work, and very effecient time wise! I personally am getting slower the more I learn about detailing. Since I have never made a dime detailing cars, and my primary purpose is relaxation, I guess I don't really care. But I would like to be able to do what you did in that length of time.
