2004 Audi A8 - first time posting w/ new camera

Hey guys - I did an exterior detai on a 2004 Audi A8 this morning.

Sorry, I had no before shots - the guy was in a hurry and I had limited time.

Please accept my new camera skills. I have been posting for 2 years but never a pic of my work!

Oh, I polished the exhaust tips AFTER the photos! I know you ladies; you'll point it out!

Process:

Wash w/ Meguiar's GC and foam gun

3M clay on hood roof trunk and rocker panels

Power Purple 1:1 on tires

New EO A2Z on wheels

Optimum Polish white LC pad w/ PC speed 5.5

VM grey LC finish pad w/ PC speed 5.5

Blitz wax by hand w/ yellow foam applicator

IG on windows

VM on trim

AA tires

The Optimum really takes a while to work, but it left virtually no marring. I just love Blitz! You can work it in the sun with a WOWO method. Really makes the flake pop. This car was LOADED with flake!

Hope you like :xyxthumbs

Ugly cars...who the heck would want an Audi A8?

OK OK Im jealous so what?!?!

Haha beautiful detail for an already beautiful car.

Nice flake and great detail. I just hate the new droopy nose on the Audis...

Looks like your new camera is doing a fine job. :xyxthumbs

Spilchy- Good job and great pics.

Did it have much marring? I hear the Optimum works very well, just wondering if you had to fix anything in the hard Audi clear.

If nothing else, the nose makes them look different. However, it works best on the A8, almost as well on the A6, and looks kinda funny on the A4. Hands down, they have some of the best interiors of any car on the market right now. Excellent detail on a great looking car.

Gorgeous color. Why do they have to use such 'boring' wheels, though?

Do you have any of the whole car?

My mom really likes/wants an A8L after my sister gets the Sebring. She was really impressed by the interior when we saw it at the D.C. Auto Show.

Thanks for the compliments fellas! Much appreciated. I hope to post a lot more pics now :up

This car is driven a few times a week to NY City.

Accumulator - as far as the marring is concerned; I worked the Optimum for a long while at a slow pace. When I was finished, I was left with little isolated "whisps" of marring here and there. Nothing major at all. You needed to be at a peculiar angle with the sun on the car. Believe me, the sun was BEATING on it and the marring was very little. Nothing like VM to cover it up :o and lay down a real wet gloss. I care for the car, so there wasn't much surface correction ;)

Mongoose - those wheel are quite elegant I think. Very bold and beefy. Plus they were a breeze to clean despite some curb rash. The new A2Z was awesome :up I was pressed for time, so with the residual Blitz on the applicator, I waxed each wheel real fast for an added gloss. I'll look for a whole car shot. It's rather huge so to fit it in the frame, you couldn't get a good close up. The first two pics are a nice representation of each side. The interior is pretty cool - like a spaceship with the console. I don't know if I like the gauges though.

He was complaining about the rear bumper being nicked up. "You pay $70,000 for a car and you get plastic bumpers!" he scowled. I said they're all like that.

You really did make the flakes 'sparkle' :xyxthumbs (I did a double-take thinking it was over-spray) great job for a first with the camera

Man, great job!

The flakes look radiant! That's a great color, and I'm surprised how well Blitz looks with it. I've always loved Audis, and the A8 is no exception!

:xyxthumbs

Nice work. I am glad you liked the Opt Polish. I'll be using it also on a white A8 in the next few days.

Keep up the good work:up
