2002 Sentra Mud to Shine transformation

This past spring I decided to take my 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V on a 2200 mile journey from Laramie, WY to Phoenix, AZ for the NOPI All-Nissan Nationals. March means terrible weather up in WY still, and I encountered about 3 separate blizzards on my Laramie to Las Vegas leg. I got stuck behind several sand trucks, ending up with a massive chip in my windshield that I had to get repaired in Vegas. Long story short, I basically trashed my car taking it to a car show. I wanted to cry when I saw what it looked like. :(

Once I arrived in Phoenix, the detailing for the car show began. With the help from a friend, we worked 7 straight hours to get my car from trashed to show car beautiful. This was the first time that I ever completely detailed a car, too.

This is how the car looked after 2 of the blizzards I drove through...

When I arrived in Vegas, I took my car to a car wash to try to get the majority of the ickiness off. While there, I used Meg's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner and got these results...

Once in Phoenix, we basically cleaned every inch of my car... the engine bay had obviously never been detailed before, as well as the wheel wells. I swear I scrapped off a good 1/4 inch of brake dust! Products used included Meg's Deep Crystal Car Wash, Nxt Gen wax, Mother's clay bar kit, Never Dull metal polish, Meg's Quik Detailer, Mother's metal polish, Simple Green for the engine bay, Turle Wax tire foam (it has to be one of my favorite products ever), RainX, RainX window cleaner, Armor All protectant, interior carpet cleaner, among others. I had a huge array of microfiber and terry cloth towels.

Some of the ending results:

heh, this is how I kept the car clean overnight... I'm a freak like that! Saran wrap + painter's blue masking tape = great!

Here's a picture of my car at the show, getting ready for some models to pose on it

I took first place in my class for all that care! :)

The one thing that I love the most is that ever since I did this detailing job, my car has been a whole lot easier to keep clean. Now for shows I've cut my detailing time down to 2 or 3 hours at most, and that's if I do a wax job. The car is in storage for this winter, but this spring I plan on doing another major detailing on it, including the entire undercarriage, which is something I haven't done before. I'm stepping it up majorly for this coming show season, and that means also stepping up my detailing ;) I'm excited, I love cleaning my car!

My interior always remains spotless, but here's some pics nonetheless! For some bizarre reason I really do not have very many pictures of my interior. I can show you like 500 pictures of my engine/exterior, but like 5 total of my interior. Kinda strange... when I get my car out of storage I will definitely have to take lots of pictures of the interior.

Wyoming has blizzards in August!

Hahah, it took me so long because I didn't know this forum existed until a few weeks ago. I might have another set of pictures to post up this spring, when I do my car again after a long time in storage. It also took me a long time to read the last few posts on this thread... hahah.
