Well,

after having 6 straight days of 60+ weather last week, we got hit with a foot of snow and sub 30 degree temps on friday.

so now that car washing season is on hold, i busted out my newly ordered Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine !!!

washed my dad's durango and my Wrangler which were riddled with snow and salt,

gotta say i am impressed how nicely it cleanses the paint.

works well for the wheels too !!!

i know, this thread it no good without pics but i did not snap any befores, so afters dont give it the right , oooompph

just thought i would add my personal review of NRW :heelclick

The ONR is awesome! Another one of those products you can't do without! Did you pretreat the vehicles first with quick detailer solution or did you just use the NO Rinse directly? Just curious.

That's an interesting question because I use ONR in the QD ratio mix (6oz/gal) in a 1.5qt pump sprayer, then wipe off with a wet towel and rinse bucket. (extra dirty areas get a little extra spray).

Works FANTASTIC and I only use about a quart of the mix to wash my mid size SUV.

As in my previous post, ONR Rules!

went to the car wash and rinsed the jeep, i had snow caked everywhere, and i really wouldnt know why :D

so it was not too bad so i just washed it,

on the other hand,

my dads durango was salt crusted and i pre-treated the bad areas, 2 caps full of ONR and filled the spray bottle up,

sprayed on panel at a time and washed / dried one panel at a time,

Thats it. I think I'm going to order some of this stuff and try it out. Washing the car when its 15 outside and 20mph winds is not going to happen. Has anyone had any problems with creating swirls while useing this stuff?

I haven't created any swirls yet with it. Just make sure you are doing one panel at a time and rinsing your microfiber or wash mitt well.

i used to work at a delaer for the past 4-5 years so i never worried about washing, because i would wash the cars at work,

but since i am no longer at a dealer, i did my homework and bought some,

i used a chenelle wash mitt, it had alot of pelt and i did not notice any marring / swirling from the wash,

i had a MFWW in a bucket of warm-hot water waiting to be rung out and used for drying each panel as i went,

seemed to work really good, :grinno:

I like to use the 2 bucket method. One bucket for the solution and the other for rinse. I use a microfiber or sheepskin, whatever I feel like using at the time. I wash the panel and then wipe dry with another microfiber. Once the microfiber I used for drying gets too wet that then turns into my wash towel. This way saves you from using a ton of towels. I like to use the Poorboys Mega Plush and Waffle Weaves for this.

Cool. Thanks guys. I did some reading up on this product. I will be ordering it soon as it keeps getting colder and colder. Just to straighten a few things out.

1. For wash bucket 1 gallon H20 to 2oz ONR.

2. I want to try this as new QD. 1 gallon H20 to 6oz ONR? Isnt that only like 1:21 or something? That does not seem like very must product.

Thanks a lot.

I use 2 capfuls for 2 gallons of water. For the quick detailer use 6 oz. per gallon of water. It doesn't seem like that much solution but it works. Plenty of lubrication.

^^^mine too.it will be here friday.altho im still worried about swirls and the ONR comprimising my wax protection(M21 & M26x2)since it has special cleaners and whatever in it.

You don't have to worry about it comprimising the wax or sealant you already have on there. If anything it adds a little more protection because of the polymers it has in it.

What I am wondering about is how will it act when you add it to a foam gun

mixed with zaino car wash for example?

I mean do you fill half the foam gun bottle with zaino and 2oz or more of ONR?

and will it still be no rinse or am I going to have to rinse it with water to remove

the zaino?

For me personally ONR alone I will not use it for my Black M6, and for sure

I am not going to slid a micro fiber towel with dirt in it across the paint.

Maybe if I had a lighter color car, I would take my chances but not on black.

If you mix some ONR in a foam gun with the Zaino car wash you will still have to rinse. Basically what you would have is all of the car wash foam along with some of the properties of ONR which might add some lubricity to the mix.

When you use a rinseless wash like ONR or QEW one of the first things you'll notice is there will be no suds. Mixing it with a car wash soap in a foam gun, even with ONR added, would leave a soap residue behind if you didn't rinse.

What you might want to try is doing a small section of your car with ONR to see how well it works for you. Then you can decide if it works (no marring) or not. It is a hard concept/process for an Autopian to try at first, and on a car with a lot of salt or built up dirt I feel better giving it a quick rinse at a coin-op and then doing the ONR or QEW.
