Blood removal

Can't say for carpet, but cold water seems to work best with clothing.
A lot of products will "set" the blood stain and then it will be permanent. Hot water tends to set the stain as well.
If the cold water doesn't do it and you need to use a chemical that may affect the color/dye of the carpet.

Also, here's a link that might help.

Could not be a better answer...and question for BB to ask in light of our banter recently

BB, do you have an Oxyclean on hand?

Folex is also a great choice...I've also heard that seltzer water works, but that's on fresh blood.

BlackBart, Though I don't speak from experience, Folex does list blood as one of the stains that is is effective at cleaning.

Two other options, both target organic based stains and mention blood specifically in their list of stains sources. I have found both to be very effective on other organic based stains.

Nature's Miracle - Stain and Odor Remover - This product is generally targeted at pet owners, so you might find it at your better pet stores. WM/Target and high end grocery stores in your area may also carry it.

because it does everything I ask it to do ...

Really?

As you know APC comes in many forms of qualities and strengthens..there are also three different types with in that...that I am aware of...detergent, chemical and natural based cleaners.

I know what yours is, is that what you where suggesting that BB use? and if so what process would you advice?

I used Folex and my vapor steamer on a recent job, with the exception of the seatbelt it ALL came out. The job was a blood and bits of liver bath from a gentleman who was hemoraging on the way to get a liver transplant.

That's more than i need to know, glad it was your job and not mine. :D

Damn, there went lunch for me.:) That sounded like a job. Tell me you charged extra for "bio-hazard". When I get some nice chunky vomit or blood jobs, I tend to charge a lot more, since you have to take extra precaution and then disinfect your equipment when finished.

yes and I would probably spray it on let it well and then blot it out ..rubbing will push it further into the carpet and possible spread it ... ;)
