Zaino or S100?

I never can seem to see my Zaino when I apply it to my black SS. I'm thinking about changing to S100. What do you guys think? Can I interchange the two together? I tried S100 on a side panel and it goes on easy and comes off like a breeze.

Please advise.

Thanks

You can't apply Zaino on top of S100 but you can do the opposite. Zaino likes a naked surface to bond to. That way you get the gloss of Zaino and the depth of S100.

AMEN to HilfigerCelica's comments! Zaino layers, topped with S100, make an unbelievable shine, especially on a dark color.

recently bought S100 to top the Zaino layers I have, but been too busy to try yet. . .soon. . .

Can you guys actually see the Zaino as you wipe in on? Damn hard to see........

Here's my experience with my old white car: When I apply it as thin as I'm supposed to, you're exactly right: it's doggone hard to see. Lots of Autopians get 3 or 4 coats out of a single ounce of Zaino! I'm not quite there yet, but I can now get two.

Have you read Nick's Unsolicited Zaino Tips & Tricks yet? It's an excellent article -- supplements the instructions on the Zaino site. Here's one of Nick's tips on application:

"Lightly spread the Zaino onto your paint very sparingly. Best results are obtained from a very thin and even coat! An excessively thick application wastes product and is difficult to remove. I first apply using a circular movement to ensure complete coverage, then follow with straight line wipes to achieve a thin and even application.

On light colored paint it should be so thin that it is hard to see in bright sunlight so you may want to work in the shade."

Be aware that these two do very different things. Zaino is a polymer sealant, which will give you great shine and last a really long time -- we're talkin' months. Waxes also give great shine, but their longevity is generally measured in weeks rather than months. (Correct me I'm wrong on this, Autopia-mates!)

I have topped Z on my dark BMW with P21S and Souveran, with no noticable difference. I don't think the Z lets the wax work like it would on an "unzainoed" surface. Perhaps I needed different light but I saw no improvement.

Yeah, I too fell prey to the Autopian "irrational exuberance" and topped my Zainoed white Jag with S100. S100 was a dream to work with, but I didn't really see any improvement in depth, shine, or wetness. As soon as it wears off, I'll go back to being Zaino Pure on that car. I still have the two others to play with. :)
