Supplier says a woool pad on a PC RA polisher works best to take oxidation off best.

Its gel coat and paint on a boat so we can go a bit more aggressive.

But what do you guys think?

Woll pad or foam?

Gary

gel coat AND paint on a boat or just gelcoat? I use a wool pad for compounding gelcoat followed by a white foam pad to apply polish. then a black pad for wax.

some people have said to get good results with foam pads on gelcoat but I find that wool works best to remove oxidation.

The hull and deck are white gelcoat but the 12" stripe along the sides are painted black and blue. I tried foam cutting pad with "reasonable" results. I'll try the wool pad later today and follow with 3M swirl remover.

Thanks

I am surpised the stripes are not stickers. if they are stilers i just go over it with the wool pad as well.
