I read alot of posts / threads about using 4in pads and the results that are had with them,

i recently bought a wrangler and it has really small panels, so i figured i would invest in 4in pads for it and possibly other small areas on other cars i detail,

so which ones do you guys use, how are your results, and where do you buy them ??

thanks

Edge is coming out with their dual sided 4" durafoam pads in just a week or two. That may be another pad to look at in addition to what's currently available.

Gav....I have had great luck with the BP and pads from Patrick at excell....the plate is built like a tank..and the pads work great....

I am interested in the edge pads..but going to wait..the 4" system generates some heat..so will let others try them before I do...would hate to see a pad fly apart from heat stress while I am doing some corrections.....

I have seen posts where some melted the BP on 4" pad use....they do get hot..but work great once you get to know the limits....I looked at alot of BP's and Patricks looked built the best...

For me..it is just as quick to change a pad as to flip one over...and Patrick's pads are cheap enough to get a good selection of different grits....

agreed, can't recommend him enough... :)

Gav,

Patrick has two BP's for the turbo pads, one was 3.5" and the other was 3.75". I have the 3.5" and I much prefer a larger one for defect correction (I'm using a larger one from Rightlook). I can't find the 3.75" right now, but I know he had it up there last week.

Who has "kits" for 4" pads?

I thought danase did but he dont.

I like buying "kits", that way i dont have to pick out numerous items to put in my cart. Just click and buy.

Patrick at exceldeatail had kits...look on his site...I tried the LC pads and Patricks..patricks are by far alot better....thicker...less absorbent...and cheaper in price....

The Edge system would be nice if you use a lot of pads. I adapter and 4", 6" and 8" pads to choose from. The downside is that your current inventory of pads can't be used.

Nah i would rather find a site that has a kit.

As in a kit i mean, BP, 1 cutting pad, 1 polishing pad and 1 finishing pad.

Something along those lines anyways.

Actually a kit like that but with 2 of each pad would be ideal for me.
