What would/do you top 5 coats of SG with?

I've applied today the 5th coat of SG on my cars hood. I've been thinking of toping it with something like UPP or P21S CW.

What would you top it with? Or would you leave it like that?

I would do the upp first. It should make the klasse look even glossier and slicker. Plus if by some reason you wanna go farther on down the line, you can add a wax to that...

What color is the paint? If it is silver like mine I don't think topping with a wax will give you any improvement. I tried topping SG with S100 and I didn't notice any differance at all.

Dark colors benefit most from toppers. What type of SG are you using? I have found topping Zaino to be useless. Other Sg's seem to fair well though.

I think it really depends on the color of the car.

Lighter color cars and metallic paints I use S100 and/or Klasse because it really brings out the color and/or flake really nice.

Darker cars, I have been using S100 on as well. However, UPP and Carnauba Moose are on my list to get since they do a very nice job giving the wet deep look on darker paints.

Wow thats surprising. What color are you talking about?? I used S100 over SG on my red F150 and was very impressed with the results.

I toped with UPP. Results as expected, it added shine and depth to the glossy SG finish. It's also more slick. Tomorrow I'll add another coat of UPP as it seems to start looking great after the 2nd/3rd coat. I'll post pics if I can take any good ones.

Sounds like what I would have expected. After you get the amount of layer of UPP you want, try using a carnauba topper on half the hood and see what happens.

Pats300zx,

My car is silver. Has many coats of SG on it. Tried topping with S100 and there was no difference. Probably get different results with a darker color.

On ligher colored cars I have a hard time seeing the difference between just SG and SG with a wax topping. Dark cars I think shows it, but on my white and silver cars I just don't see it.

Try some Pinnacle Souveran over the top will give it an extra glow. I usually do the twins and top with Souveran...thats on dark blue paint.

I just used S100 2x over AIO/SG 5X on my sapphire blue metallic car. While it made the paint deeper and slightly wetter, I preferred the SG by itself since I was getting an outrageous shine. While S100 clarified the reflections I got on the paint, it seemed to tone down the shine. Just my opinion and preference on my car.

Is that a new brand of foam pad? ;)

I topped my 3 coats of SG with NXT. This really improved the depth, and the slickness (two weeks so far) is incredible. I believe this will be my new routine.

I prepared my new black Porsche C4S with Menzerna Intensive Polish followed by Menzerna Final Polish. Then I used AIO followed by two coats of HG. Lastly, P21S Carnauba.
