what product for tires?

Just finishing a month of solid detailing my Pantera

yesterday, washed,clayed p21s gepc, tomorrow 3mihg

thenp21s wax, what do you suggest for the tires?
 
I was using the Stoners but I've since changed over to....what else....Poorboys. I like the Bold n Bright a lot.



I had thought that spray was much easier but the overspray was always a problem. I bought a heapee cheapee wash mitt and I use it to apply the BoldnBright. I cut the elastic wrist band so it would come off and on easy. I store the mitt in a gallon size baggie.
 
Bold n Bright's a great dressing, believe it or not so is Armor All.



I'm currently using Meguiar's NXT Tech Protectant and I really like it. Goes on easy, dries very black, much blacker than the BnB or the AA.
 
I guess it depends upon the look you're after.



I like TOL's GRAPE tire dressing. Yes, it smells like grapes but that's not why I like it. It gives my tires a dark look with a very nice sheen. Shiny not greasy.
 
I was in Target tonight and was going to buy NXT Protectant. I read the label and it said if the product gets on the paint to remove immediately. This made me nervous so I did not purchase it. I noticed the same warning on Endurance. Does anyone know why this is the case?
 
I'll go with Good N' Clean on this one. I didn't believe it at first, but Armor All was reformulated a few years ago. It used to be solvent based, now it's water based.

Applied with a Eagle One Tire Swipe. For those big SUV tires, about 2 squirts per tire works great. The EO Tire Swipes cut down on product use a ton. After you do each tire once, go back to it and make sure the application is even. You may need one more squirt onto the applicator and rub it in a little more.



This combo lasts about a week or so, depending on the weather. If you allow it to dry for more than 10 mins, there is no spin-off!
 
I also will agree with Goodnclean on both counts. I'm a fan right now of Tech Protectant. Important tip, though: let it set overnight if possible. In my review of this product, I spoke of the tremendous slinging of the NXT. Since then, I have experimented with it on my car. I will typically clean the car in the afternoon/evening anyway. Apply with tire swipe, do whatever else you do after dressing tires, then give it a final wipe to cut down on shine. I don't get any sling at all if it is given a couple of hours to set and the stuff lasts longer than anything else I've tried.



AA is the price killa' and it does do a great job and dries *much* quicker than NXT.



I'm all curious about the TOL grape product now. Is it truly "permanent" as they say or would A2Z remove it if I don't like the look?

That's what i use and love it. A little tip.. When you wash your car set the bottle in the sun. It will heat the gel up and allow it to spread much easyer and evenly across the tire. By the time your done washing it should be ready:up
 
I had been using the Stoner's More Shine Less Time tire treatment for a long time and I was sold on it. Recently, however, I switched to the Tropi-Care tire dressing and have been really happy with it. Unlike most stuff (Although the Stoners is this way also), the TropiCare dries very fast and leaves a semigloss type shine. It doesnt sling off and seems to last for a while. It's a liquid and you put it on with a spounge, applicator, whatever.



I can post some pics if you really wanna see what it looks like.

I'm a long time EO Tire Shine person, but I'm AAing it this summer. The EO didn't seem to be holding up as long as I liked it, and mostly based on the endorsement of Scottwax, I'm AAing my tires now.



And the best thing, no sling. It also seems to soak into the tire more and it's much easier.



$10 per half gallon at Wal-Mart seems cheap, though I'm curious if I can find a cheaper source.
 
What does it mean when a tire cleaner "slings"? I am new to this detailing adventure - I finally got a car I want to detail - an Infiniti G35 Coupe-6MT.

When a tire dressing "slings", it does not get fully absorbed by your tires. As you drive, the tire dressing ends up all over the sides of your freshly washed/waxed car. If the tire dressing has silicone, it turns into a bear to get off.



How do you like the G35 Coupe so far?
 
From my experience when using a tire dressing...after application let it "set" for awhile then wipe off. This helps with avoiding "sling". Some products seem to do better when left on over night like thinksnow mentioned. By the way...



thinksnow....TOL's Grape tire dressing so far is proving to be very durable. I've only used it for a week or so but am finding that it retains a nice black, semi-shine look to it even after riding through rain or after a wash. I've been re-applying with a light application to "refreshen" the look. Like many of us, we've tried just about every tire product on the market but so far this is proving to be my favorite.



I'll report further with some pics to follow.
