what leather conditioning product & wax should I get?

I've re-read the forums a bit and found the following products I'm going to try on a diamond white pearl/tan interior '96 Lexus ES300:

leather cleaner - woolite (to be mixed 6:1 or 8:1)

leather conditioner(!) - lexus brand conditioner

quick detailer spray (for bird poop/insect cleanup when a complete car wash isn't possible)- mothers showtime qd

wax(!) - currently using NXT tech wax paste (which seemed to get positive reviews as an OTC product last year when I was reading the forums for some advice but now is completely despised..). I'm running low on this and would like to get something else that is preferably OTC and works better.

tires - eagle one all wheel & tire cleaner spray

wheels - Meguiar's Wheel Brightener?

tailpipes - p21s polishing soap

Not really sure about what leather conditioner and wax to get. I want to stick with easy to find products if possible (OTC unless it just isn't worth it). In another thread I read Lexus provided cleaner/conditioner worked real well. Called up my local dealership and they did not stock anything but Lexol. :bolt

Zaino Z-9/Z-10 (Z-9 replacing woolite) is my last resort if something decent can't be found at a store. :help::thx

I use nothing but Lexol. It can be found at large auto store chains. There is a cleaner and then the conditioner. Lexol has been around longer than any of us have been. My mom has been using Lexol frequently on a western style horse riding saddle that is well over 50 years old. It still looks great. The cleaner will actually lighten up the color of the seats, then the conditioner will darken then right back up. It can be used on all colors of leather. I wouldn't trust my leather seats to anything else.

Go pick up some S100 at the local Harley shop. It looks great on white.

Am I suppose to get the "S100 Detail + Wax" or "S100 Shine-enhancing Cleanser and S100 Carnauba Paste Wax"? :hm

Isn't Lexol one of the least popular OTC leather products on this forum?

s100 Looks good, but the durability is poor. As far as OTC..perhaps Mother's FX Synwax ($8.28 at my local WalMart) or Meguiar's #20 or #26 at an auto parts store. Personally, I don't think NXT is a bad product.

I like Lexol. I don't hear bad things about it.

Another option is to get some Duragloss (at my local Car Quest) They make a nice cleaner/sealant as well as a leather conditioner in a lotion

If you are going with the S100, get the cleanser and the S100 wax. The cleanser will help prep the paint. However, I agree with the previous post... for OTC on white, the FX Synwax is pretty darn nice. However, you'll probably still need something to prep (clean and/or polish) the paint.

I've used Lexol for years, with excellent results. If you don't feel comfortable buying Lexol, you could try the Meguair's GC Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. It also works just fine.

For OTC, if you have a Carquest nearby, ask if they can get you the leather shampoo and the leather conditioner. I haven't tried their leather shampoo so I can't tell you how well it cleans. I've been using Meg's APC+ for cleaning, but I'm thinking about switching because even at 10:1, it seems to be almost too strong for leather, plastics, and vinyl. But the DG Leather Conditioner is a great product. Works great and smells great, like actual leather.

While you're at Carquest, you might as well try out Duragloss 105 TPP as a sealant. $10 for the bottle. Personally, I haven't had the time to really detail my vehicles so I haven't used 105 TPP enough to give you an honest, accurate feedback. Many others can testify to how durable and good looking this product is. When I discovered about DG on this forum, I also discovered about AquaWax, so this has actually made me lazier to even do a proper detail on my car. AquaWax is a spray sealant/booster type product, yet it easily outlasts NXT (at least the liquid version).

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'll try Mothers this time around. I have to drive a bit to get to any Harley shop, and I have a feeling it'll cost quite a lot & not last through many waxing sessions. I've got Clay Magic for the cleansing process - should work fine?

However, I don't have a polish (since doing everything by hand leaves me exhausted by the time I'm done waxing).

All the Carquests near me are 15 1/2 miles away..:wow:
