What can be used with Megs #20?

I understand that #20 will remove most glazes when applied. What surface preparation should be done prior to applying #20?

Also, can #26 be used as a topper? I know the 20 will provide me with a durable protection layer which I think will out last #26, but will a #26 topper increase the depth & shine without disrupting the durability of #20?

Thanks,

George

I would think a good paint cleaner as a prep.....say Meg's MPPC or Klasse AIO?

No reason why #26 wouldn't work fine as a topper as it is not abrasive. My experience has been that #26 does have a deep, warm gloss at least on my red truck. I don't know how much, if any, it would deepen the gloss of the #20 but I'd sure like to know when/if you try it. :)

You use Mequiar's DACP or Madallion Paint Cleaner before #20 and there is no problem using #26 as a topper. I have done this on more than one occasion.

Maybe #9 can be used before #20 too but I believe the #9 has some fillers and #20 will remove them.

Also you can layer #26 on top of #20 for the nice deep shine.

Maybe you can even put #7 on top of #20 and than #26 on top of #7. I haven't tried that yet but just an idea.

Just recently I did exactly this. I started with #20 which left a glass like shine and topped it with #26. After I had topped with #26, I noticed the paint seemed duller. But I do have a light colored car so that might have been it.
