We Need a Detailer's Creed

32. No matter wind, nor rain, nor snow, I will wash my vehicle to ensure it stays clean. Especially in the snow to get rid of the salt spray & barnacles that form on the mudflaps.

33. I will endlessly search for the right combination of polish, pad color and pad size to remove each and every microscopic scratch that could detract from the beauty of my car's finish.

34. I will obsessively scrutinize my car's finish under parking lot lights at every opportunity to make sure the above has been accomplished.

Im no good with witty sayings. But this thread makes me feel better and lets me know that I'm not the only crazy one out there.

36. I will gladly sleep in my car at night and in the morning look at my car for my mirror.

35. I will put a sunshade up at night and when its overcast.

i do

#37 I will on occasion detail neglected family member's cars more out of appreciation for the car than the owner (and do so knowing that they'll just take it to the drive-n-swirl weekly afterwards).

and a related #38 I'll keep preaching the virtues of hand washing, no matter how often my friends/neighbors tell me that the drive-through is "more convenient".

Just thought of another one while I was in the car:

38. I will try not to cause a car accident by obsessively looking at the water beads flying off from the hood of my car. :)

40. I will learn that sprinklers spray farther than 5 feet and park to avoid them altogether!

:doh :think2

41. If I feel like washing my car at 1 am, I will.

LOL, do you really do that? I'm planning on waking up at 5:00 tomorrow to detail my car. Long day ahead...

42. After I finish detailing my car, I will spend 10 minutes admiring the work that I've just done. I will circle my car 3 times clockwise, and then 3 times counterclockwise, inspecting every detail. :getdown

I hate to admit it, but yeah I've done that. I don't make a habit of it of course, and I would prefer to wash early in the morning or around dusk, but sometimes circumstances just won't cooperate...so I gotta do what I gotta do. :)

As long as there's good lighting, it's not too problematic (except for your significant other). :bolt

43. I will frequently open my detail cabinet and admire the contents.

44. I will not be made to feel guilty about admiring the contents of my detailing cabinet or estimate the cost when asked by wife.

This doesn't have to do with detailing the car exactly, but close:

45. I will refresh my autopia page every 30 seconds to look for new posts that I can reply to and/or get help from.

#46| I shall protect my new un needed but found them on sale detailing supplies by sending them to my friends house instead of mine.
