On your own daily driver do you prefer wax or sealant? It does not matter which one, just curious about the results.

I do the sealant train. I do that because since I use Jeff Werkstatt line, I don't want to compromise the looks or durability by applying a Nuba.:dance

I think I wax my car about every month with something different! I went from EX-P, to EX-P topped with Natty's Blue, then with Carnauba Jett, now my car is wearing CK Vanilla Moose/ClearKotes Caranuba Moose Wax lol! I think next time I'll probably throw on some opti seal, then maybe I'll go with 476s :grinno:

IMO it just depends....I know that sounds mealy-mouthed but I really can't generalize. I do use carnaubas on *most* of our drivers, but I use the Klasse twins on the minivan.

If you can get *and keep* it marring free, and you like how a sealant looks on the paint in question, then sure, use a sealant. But if marring is an issue, and/or you like the look of carnauba then go that route. FWIW some of us have found that certain carnaubas seem to protect against bird bombs/etc. better than some sealants. Not sure why, but seeing is believing.

I havent tried CJ from JW. I might get it to see how it looks over XMT 360 --> Nattys and then CJ on my moms car.:chuckle:

Sealants (Zaino) on all my vehicles. Look great, to me, marring is not a problem and Z seems to self-clean which in turns reflects back on self-induced reduction in washing swirls. :nixweiss

Never had a bird etching problem with Z. Maybe these country birds only eat good pickings. ;)

I have no use for carnauba waxes anymore. I care less about the look and more about protection and durability, which leads to my preference for sealants all the way. Not that most sealants nowdays look bad either, so I'm really not giving up anything IMO.

I use collinite 845 since I don't have the disposable income to try out Zaino, FMJ, or any other high priced sealants. Same lack of discretionary income prevents me from Pinnacle, Zymol, etc.

I've got wax but never use it anymore.....Sealants last for months and still look great with some QD after washing. It's more about durability with me these days......

Zaino is the only sealant that I really like. Carnuba is just hard to beat sometimes.

IMO, that poll is pretty much useless, i.e. poor phrasing, bias...

Then dont participate.

Durability, Ease of Use and Looks (in that order) is what is important to me. So, spray sealants is all I use nowadays - AJ-T and Duragloss AW. I have an S100 that I haven't used for over a year. If I ever consider wax in the future, I'll probably get Collinite waxes.

Tiger....I too, use DG105. We're not compromising anything in terms of looks, and we get great durability to boot! Waxes do it for me looks wise, but with all my driving, they don't do well in the durability department!
