Yes, by hand and with a Scotchbrite pad. :soscared: Looks very close to a similar one I had to correct when someone prior DID use a Scotchbrite pad and a heavy compound on a vans finish. It took a whole lot of correction with a wool pad and rotary, then foam pads to a finishing polish.



Damn I wish I had kept the pic of this van from long ago as it's worth scanning it and posting it, very close in what the picture looks like in the first post. ugh



Big box stores need to pull off the shelves all "rubbing compounds" as this is what I see often in the garage of users with issues. Smarter ones will use say a Mirror Glaze polish/compound or cleaner from the same stores.

I used Ultimate Compound on my girlfriends explorer, but with a PC 7424 and it worked flawlessly.



I did use it by hand on the tank of my ninja zx9r and it worked amazingly. I guess I knew that you cant just rub it on like a wax and let it dry, then wipe off. I rubbed about 45 seconds to a minute each time.
 
Funniest part of the thread is where he says "it only looks like that when it's in the sun".



Although, I do feel bad for the dude, because I'm just thinking of how happy he must've been while working on it, thinking he was going to knock out all of those unsightly swirls! Maybe his girlfriend was watching him, maybe he felt really "manly"... LOL



You guys should be thankful for guys like him... some pro is going to have a nice pay day because of him.
 
After reading this thread I couldn't help but go out a buy a bottle of this stuff. Although he had trouble with it, it seems like the perfect "cheap" substitute for M105... with a little less cut even, and more work time, which I can appreciate. Unfortunately I don't have a car that needs this particular service at this time, so I will be waiting till spring to give it a try.

Well his first mistake was buying a black Honda, and the second seems have been covered here already. Kind of feel sorry for the guy, good intentions and he got shot down, even though it was most likely his own fault.

That's the reason why I purchased it. If you need the cut of M105 then you should use M105, but I think this stuff will be a great "in between" compound when you need something a little stronger then Megs 83/84, but not as bad *** as M105. Its also half the cost, and you can get it at any local auto parts stores.... for now at least. I think this is going to be great for those 100K mile cheapo refurbishes.... I can't wait to give it a try.

I used this today by hand on my new Mazdaspeed3. I have some water spots etc.

Worked very well. It nice with no dusting to note. The finish was also excellent without and scratched or marring.



I am going to get a pc next :)
 
I used this with my pc the other day. It seemed to work okay on my hood, but my roof is not that much better. (Car came from the north, I think they scrapped the snow off of the entire car with a scrapper). Before it had no shine at all, now it has a little. I probably should have worked it longer too.
 
Maybe it is just me, but did he not feel the need to do the door handles or mirror...or did he realize how messed up his paint was and decided to have some glossier areas on the car???
