First up, the beast :xyxthumbs





Really cool truck, I must admit. A buddy of mine used to have one and I always enjoyed it. This one belonged to a family with two young kids, yet it remained rather clean. The exterior was killed with bonded contaminants, but no clay wanted :confused: . Anyways, I did what I could with the sucker. Finals:





-PwC via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1200 rpm

-Meguiar's # 20 via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1000 rpm

-Meguiar's NXT Speed Detailer



-Optimum Dressing on tires and in wells

-OCW on wheels

-Poorboy's Trim Restorer on plastic

The Sentra was nothing special, but the paint was pretty shot. It's only a '97 and had a ton of swirls/scratches/oxidation/paint transfer/etc. Nothing special desired here. I went with Meguiar's #66 via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1200 rpm and topped with OCW. Optimum on tires and wells. PB TR on plastic...

I took my time on the Infiniti. It was the only one of the day so I played it like that. The paint was a mess. It's a 2000 with only 28k on the clock but had plenty of swirls, buffer trails covering the hood, lots of R.I.D.S., and bonded contaminants. Finals:



-Optimum Clay

-Menzerna Powergloss via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1500 rpm

-Optimum Polish via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1200 rpm

-UPP by hand (v.2)



-OCW on wheels

-Optimum dressing in wells

-Turbo Wax Gel on tires

Interior wears 303 on all but leather. Leather got PB's Cleaner/Conditioner. Chrome, clear plastic, and wood got PwC.

Tell me, what tire dressing do you like the most? I really like the look of the Optimum tire dressing in the Tahoe pictures, but I really didn't like the look in the Sentra pictures. Was there a difference in application?



I was also suprised you went with Powergloss and a cutting pad on the Infiniti. Is that a pretty routine combination for those swirls. I mean, they looked pretty minor relative to some I've seen. My black SUV had swirls that were pretty consistent with what you showed, so I'm wondering what I should be using to remove them. I was thinking Optimum and a cutting pad! How would this compare to PG and a cutting pad?

I guess your are quickly seeing that not everyone's expectation for their paint condition live up to what you or I consider "normal". :think: Sometimes a one-step and a smile are all they want (or are willing to pay for).

Yeah you would think you compounded the hell out of that camry the way it turned out. I gotta get me a rotary and learn to use it.
