System One Polishing Video: Am I crazy

I'll chime in with that Todd:

For pure cutting ability, Extra Cut with a wool or foam cutting pad is probably THE most powerfult combo out there...bar none.

Toto

Toto, you have to try some strada 1000 and black edge wool. :bigups

Rydawg: ya stumped me! I never even look at the bottle, but I'll find out tomorrow. All I know is: it's gritty as beach sand and stinks to high heaven...does that help LOL?

It's the PIII. The 3000 series Extra Cut replaced it, but now I have heard they might want to discontinue that also, cause of the newest 3M compound out. Their newest release compound is awful.

Good Job on showing the versatility of SYSTEM ONE X3 Cutting polish.

You know when I first came out with this product I didn’t know that it would work in the sun and really didn’t design the product with those parameters at all.

But as a detailer I love that this products works in the sun and it does it so easily.

In the past when using other products even though you aren’t supposed to use them in the sun, every once in a while you get stuck and you find yourself right in the middle of a project and in the sun.

And with no pun intended that is exactly what happens, the product sticks right to the surface and you find yourself having to start all over.

Thanks for the demo you did a great job showing how SYSTEM ONE works in direct sunlight and I also like the temp gauge.

I think that with this kind of product it is designed to be a "fishing with a net" type product, you will find specific products that do one thing better than it. But I really think you would have a hard time finding one product that does it all as well as this one. I think the target with SYSTEM ONE X3 is to simplify things. If that is something you are looking for then S1 is for you.

Considering that you apparently sell this product, its not surprising you would make this pitch.

This is a technique I avoid, the splatter is horrendous and that's just the beginning.

Wow Tom - You've been an member on Autopia since 2001 and only have 2 posts! That's the most serious lurking I've ever seen. :D You should participate more often. :welcome

IMHO, splatter is due to the user, their technique, buffer speed, etc., not the product. If you try hard enough and are careful enough, you won't splatter (or won't splatter much), no matter what product you use, once you get over the learning curve of how it behaves.

Excellent point, but you could have said it nicer. :werd:

Is there any proof of this? According to what has been posted over and over and forum rules, if Dan sells or has an interest in the product, then his posts are considered spam.

However I think his answers have been fair and unbiased, but it would still be spam.

Todd.....to chime in....what is it you have against System One? why the vendetta? You seem to time and time and time and time again try to beat it down.

I believe you stated you liked Meguiars one step product (which I believe is very similar to System One first offering). What is your feeling on the other one step type products offered?

Mark Tom Horvath's posts spam too...heck, he invented the stuff and owns the company! Can you get more biased than that?

Sorry, I couldn't resist that. :hide: End of my sarcasm for now.

I guess it took him a long time to get over the :nono:nono he received on his other post back in 2002. :sadpace:

Why do you ask me this on every thread? I thought I saw holograms when the guy in the video used it, and I asked for a second opinion.

Meguairs, to my knowledge, doesn't make a one step product?

I have nothing against any products but I know I have explained to you in detail why I don't believe the hype of this product.

^FWIW, Solo (Meguiar's) is a one-step product.

Actually, a one-polish product. I'm not aware of any one-step products.

The only thing I took from the video is: it seems like a decent product but I'd prefer to have some intermediate products and pad combos between the wool and finishing pad just because I was raised an autopian.

Sorry it has been so few and far between --- This is a tuff crowd, but its great to see the passion you guys and girls have.

I love buffing cars and it is neat to see the shared passion.

Please keep it going strong, I really enjoy what is happening here at Autopia.org Car Detailing Forum :: #1 in Auto Detailing Discussion!

Its tells me I better be on my game before I bring a product into this market.

Thanks Tom
