Steps to make a Red car shine...

First, what year, what is the paint condition like? I am a Poorboy's user so, fi the car is in fair condition I would start off with Poorboy's Polish with Carbuba followed by Poolboy's EX. If you need to get some stratches out start with their SSR first than go to the Polish with carnuba.
 
the car is a 00 model....... and the pait is in good condition. some flaws/chips, but the main thing is swirls.



i have the zaino system at home and have used it. but it didnt remove the swirls.
 
Are you using a Porter Cable or similar buffer? That will help too. If you want swirls gone it will take a few steps...if they ar deep enough. Start with Poorboy's SSR system for swirl removal.

You shouldn't expect for Zaino to remove swirls. Click on the learn icon at the top and that will give you some links for general advice and the search engine is your friend. Welcome!
 
i have no buffer yet.... right now i can only dream of getting the thing cleaned up.... every time i even think about washing it it snows or rains :(
 
I have a 99 Camaro & thanks to edschab1's advice my SS is now flawless. The steps were stripping the Zaino with aio, 3m SMR for dark colors, aio again, 3 coats of Klasse sg and the 2 coats of Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection. I'll try to attach the photo go to the member Gallery to view

okay.. i'm going to save up for a 7424PC buffer. what pads should i buy to go along with it? and what swirl stuff can i get at like walmart/orielys?

Found them. Was mucking around with the manual settings on the camera and the colors are off (I'm no photographer, that's FOR SURE:o), but you get the idea. High res, so linked:

What 2001civicex said regarding PC & pads, except get a couple of orange power pads (for those tough swirls and heavier scratches) and some polishes



1) Meg's DACP #83 and Swirl Mark Remover #82



or



2) Menzerna triplets - Power Gloss, Intensive and Final



or



3) Einzett triplets - Ultra (yellow), Polish (green) and Metallic (red)



and at least a dozen MF towels for wipedowns.



Have fun with your project. Do lots of research (let the search button become your best friend) on this site regarding the products I have listed and how to use them- everyone has their favorites, but these are all in my arsenal. Others swear by 3M and collenite and I'm sure there are others as well. I just listed these as a starting point for your research

1Z Paint polish -- PC white pad

Menzerna final polish -- PC white pad

s100 carnuba -- Hand



Too keep it up after the polishing i use s100 SEC topped with s100 carnuba.

No offense or anything, the car looks awesome, but ... a Camaro with Corvette rims?
 
I'm not offended at all........The car has won many awards....Those wheels are very popular on Camaros...especially here in the South. :xyxthumbs
