Should I Go To Vegas To Detail??

All your travel is paid for, ship out a few things you already have, have new stuff delivered to where your going to be, charge your maximum hourly rate, then add $500 if your flying on him, or $1500 if your driving.

OR, start your hourly rate once you leave the house :)

Thanks for all the advise everyone, I've gotten some good ideas from it all.

Got Leather, the whole trip is not paid for, just the lodging, not the gas or hotel going and coming. just fyi.

I think I've secured enough cars to make the trip worth while. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

I personally wouldn't justify a trip of that length unless all expenses are paid.

So if a client asked you to come do his multi-million dollar car collection and charge what ever on each car; you'd pass because of some gas money & hotel expenses? I'd spend a few hundred to make many thousand.

Exactly. Plus it gets you into an area (at least in this case or my Arizona trip) that has better winter weather and you'd have a set of customers you can turn to when the weather in your area gets bad.

That's why you charge extra. ;)

Exactly. When I go to Houston (4 hours) once a month, I have at least 4-5 cars lined up and they all pay an extra $50 so my gas is covered.

Good point, but I'm hoping this will just be a one time deal. haha Actually some of my Houston clients are going to Vegas for this show, then sema and that's how I heard about it as they contacted me to figure how I could detail them in Vegas.

I wasn't exactly meaning that, just came out wrong. Plus, someone that has a collection like that wouldn't hesitate to pay for travel anyways, but yes, I agree, I would spend some money to make much more along with the networking and writeup it would come with as well.
