Restore dull/scratched interior plastic console???

Hi all - any suggestions on products that can help bring a dull and scratched interior console (black) back to life?

Garry Dean once posted a thread on a Cadillac detail where he machine polished the interior plastic. Not sure if I can find it but I will try.

I found the youtube video that Garry did but not sure how to put the link into this thread. I stand corrected. Garry's customer used M205 on the piano black part of the console and chrome prior to Garry coating those parts. Go to youtube and search Garry Dean 2012 Cadillac.

How bad is it? I had this:

Used a little WG Uber Compound with a 4" Orange pad by hand and now I have this:

On smooth, hard surfaces I've seen polishing work.i was referring to painted plastics, textured plastics, etc.

you will have to dye it. Look for vinyl dye, i suggest leathermagic.com

Hello Dear,

If the scratches are very fine surface scratches, machine polishing with an orbital polisher foam pad and fine compound will shine it up or if the scratches are deeper, use 4000 grit wet or dry paper with soapy water until the surface is uniformly dull, then polish with medium followed by fine buffing compound. Otherwise   Meguiar's  Plast-X is best option for your  dull and scratched interior console.

I would recommend Mothers Back-to-Black or Meguiars Plast-X for the 'restoration' portion of it. As for scratches with any real depth to them, these will not be of much use - but I have noticed that when using these products, the scratches that are there tend to be much less visible and blend in more as the entire area itself is restored to a nice original black.

Everyone else here is more than likely more experienced when it comes to the scratch removal parts, and I'm sure polishing would work as some of them have mentioned, but I have no experience there
