Question about ZPC

I just tride ZPC with a PC on about speed 5 and Z2pro (2 coats) with plenty of Z6 in between on a black Grand National and & it is very cloudy or streeky looking. I used to use Z1, Z5, then Z2 without the clouding. Did I do something wrong? It still looks great but never did this before.

Thanks Ron M

I used wolfgang white pads. I was thinking the same thing. I don't think I worked it long enough It didn't seem to haze off so I would wipe it of with a micro fibre towel. Should I re ZPC??

The key to using ZPC successfully is to use it very sparingly. I put one thin line of product across the pad for each panel and work it for a couple of minutes (until it's almost dry).

If you still have the problem, you probably need to go over the affected areas again to remove it.

OH Man I guess I used way too much. I put a x across the pad and worked it on a little bit less than half the hood and half the trunk. How do you cover that much with so little? I had a hard time spreading it out. I don't think I worked it long enough. How do you tell when it's dry???

Thanks again,

Ron

Prime your pad with a few good squirts of Z6 or Z8 (or distilled water) before you apply ZPC. That should help you. As for the Z2 Pro. Apply it as thin as you can with a dampened applicator. (Z6/Z8) A micro thin layer of Z2 Pro should just about fall off your paint in about 15-20 minutes with a feather light touch. (when using ZFX). The 1st time i used Z2 Pro, I put it on too thick & had trouble removing a few spots until I got the hang of it.

Man that Z2pro is a bear to get off too, Maybe because I used too much ZPC!

If Z2 Pro is a bear to get off, you used *WAY* too much. 1 oz. should be good for 3 full coats on a mid-sized car. Spritz your applicator with Z6 to help it go down. You should *barely* be able to see it going on.

When applying ZPC spritz your pad with distilled water, apply one line of product across the pad, and spread it on the paint with the machine on speed 3. When you have it spread, bump the speed up to 5 or 6 and work the polish until it's almost dry. If it begins dusting, you worked it a little too long.

^^^^The man speaks the truth! :thx

I'll give it another go. I put the Z2 pro on the same as I used to with the Z1, Z2 combo.

I used 2oz for 2 coats with the Z2 pro now I see it was way too much but this stuff is a ***** to spread. I bet I used more with the Z2.

What would happen when the ZPC begins to start dusting?

Thanks for all of your help you guys are great!!

Ron

When a polish starts to dust you have lost lubrication between the surface and the pad. At that point the pad is likely to cause marring to the surface.

Well I guess I wasted the better part of a Sunday. I'll give it a try next Sunday. Live and learn. Just for the heck I tried some of the Pinnacle swirl remover I got for free with the PC and pad kit I got from Pinnacle Car Care Products eariler tonight and it seemed to remove the clouding and went on alot eaiser than the Zaino. Maybe I'll use that instead. Then Z2 pro a couple of times. Is that Pinnacle stuff as good as the Zaino??

Thanks!

Ron

Well I gave the ZPC another shot the way you said and It still looked the same but not quite as bad. I tried different pads, speeds and amounts. I went back to the Pinnacle and It cleared up in a snap, didn't matter how much I used or how fast I moved the PC.

Removed all the fine scratches too. I'll guess I'll try it on my wife's silver car and see how it works.

Also I switched to a foam pad for the Z2 pro and what a difference in the control I had compaired to that piece of c*** cotton one. No wonder Sal gives them away. 2 coats in under 1oz on the glass, wheels, bumpers, door jams, trunk jam and some chrome under the hood. Z2 pro is some good stuff but I think I'll pass on the ZPC.

Anyone want to trade me for it about 6oz. left.

Ron

You used too much polish, ZPC dusts more when too much is used.

I get very little dusting, and i work it until almost gone. On black, no haze, although the first time i used it, there did seem to be some clowdy somehting going on. I was using too much also.
