Project: Restore 1997 Acura Flamenco Black Pearl *56k wait a leap year

Looks good. It looks like metal flake black. When I purches my Sky, I liked the Carbon Fiber option, which had metal flake black, but it only came with the racing stripe and no rear spoiler, so my wife and I had chosen the Redline Turbo in straight black (or black Onyx). Anyway, I love MF black.

thank again everyone! its a 97 3.0 CL, and it's been in the family and was custom ordered back in 97 by my mother, but I took over ownership about 2 years ago when my mom moved up to an 08 330ci convertible

Beautiful job!:bow Especially for your first time out the gate. The Sonus line of polishes served you well. That dusting problem plaques all of us at one time or another. If you want a polish with little to no dusting try OPTIMUM brand polishes. If you want a light polish try OP, if you need cut go with OC or Hyper compound.

Oh nice pics too. Keep up the good work!

What was your total time spent?

wow! im surprised you got that level of correction out of SFX-1, I have had absolutely NO luck with the stuff.

Congratulations! Looks great!

Do you work for Optimum?

yes indeed...your cl looked real clean dude, and im so jealous you had manual AND the oem honda phone hahah

thanks for the suggestions on optimum polish...I've gotten the same advice from others who have used it who all point to OP for the smallest amount of dusting, so I'm going to give it a shot for the regular minor swirl maintenance since the car is now free from large defects

dmw: I was quite skeptical and worried at first about how much sfx-1 could get out, but it did eventually get out 99 percent of the deep defects after about 4-5 passes each panel with an orange pad. That's probably also a function of acura clearcoat, and perhaps acura clearcoat is a bit softer than perhaps, german cars.

BHARE: yes indeed custom rate D2 coilovers set on full stiff. rides and looks like a go-kart in motion but that's the way I like to roll hahah :)

I made this a while back and just found it again cuz I was re-reading this thread for more info about detailing my car and I was reminded about your car. I thought you might find it interesting or humorous.

wowwww man, SICK photochop!! Geez, I almost thought that was real lol

Lord, how I wish I had a 5 lug swap, would open up my rim choices infinitely...but actually my previous plans were well along the lines of your chop...full polished Work VS-KF's (looks almost the same as those except for curvey spokes). Very nice work though!

Recent circumstances has swayed me more towards selling all the parts on the acura, returning it back to stock, selling it and purchasing an '10 Hyundai Genesis 2.0t coupe. I'm just a sucker for them looks and price wise. We shall see though ....

Haha, thanks man. Hit me up if you ever decide to sell your wheels, I may be interested. I'm probably going to keep my stock wheels though cuz I like the sleeper look. But just let me know and we'll see. Let me know about any of the parts on your car that you decide to sell actually and we'll just see.
