I've read a lot about how to clean, polish and wax wheels and I'm just overwhelmed. I need a simple routine that will allow me to properly clean, polish and wax my wheels.

The chrome wheels on my car are 15 yrs old and have some etching on the front wheels and some on the back. Is there a way I can restore to like new condition?

When polishing the wheels, I use a damp cloth and some polish and rub in a firm back and forth motion, then buff with clean towel. Am I doing it correct?

ive used the mothers ever since i got my car...its amazing....once you let it haze up....youll be in shock fater you wipe it off...its blinding.....like DK said....follow up with Klasse AIO?Zaino...or whatever you prefer....as for the etchings theirs a good thread on the detailing page...further down near the bottom....alot of responses about damaged wheels...you might have to go to a pro for the fix if its that bad...hope not....

Stay away from using wax on your wheels. Stick to synthetics such as Klasse, Zaino, Meguiar's #20, Finish First, etc...

I was contacted by a local Limousine company to fix some obvious issues on the paint of their Rolls Royce they had just purchased used from Miami. I was informed there were buffing trails, etc so knowing that Rolls Royce paint is generaly on the softer side I thought I would have it somewhat easy on a nice car. Boy was I wrong! We wont even mention the what seemed like 4 foot tall door panels and the length a little over 19 feet! Once I started the decontamination process I began finding little clues(orange peel, unfinished sanding, etc) that the car had been repainted at some time, only to find out the entire driver side of the car had been painted after finding the blend spots over the rear A-Pillar and front fender. I had my work cut out for me.

I wasnt able to capture the defects for the top panels with my camera, so I didnt bother taking any, except this one taped off to protect the chrome trim and edges.

Boy, I am tired just looking at that thing. But it is a beauty and you have restored it as the grand lady should be.

Imagine having to stare at it just inches away for who knows how many hours..but the final outcome I was extremely happy with given the circumstances it had been through.

Man, that car has look at me written all over it. Looks like something Donald Trump would ride in :wizard:

Nice job Billy, I know white is hard to capture. The paint looks very deep now. Your write-up, with all the links. I have never seen anyone do that. Nice :)
