Polishing by hand?

quick question, is it ok to polish by hand? and whats a good swirl removing polish for black cars. i was either thinking of meguiars scratch x, but someone reccomended that i use meguairs #80 and following up with NXT wax. can anyone help me out??
 
There is nothing wrong with polishing by hand. I think most here have been that route before even if they are machine users now. If you search through Meguiar's online stuff, they have a great tutorial on using Scratch-X by hand. If you can't find it, drop me a line and I will see if I can find it.

Agreed, there is nothing wrong with polishing by hand but it is far quicker to use a buffer. I have found the Sonus SFX range works well by hand and does not contain any fillers
