Polish Residue

Hi there all, I am using a rotary, (all I have ever used) and am getting a weird residue on the clear coat after all my runs. Currently using Evercoat triple cut, and find that I need to use alcohol to remove the residue after each run. Is this normal? It barely comes off and is extremely sticky. I thought it might be the pad, so I switched to a wool, and it definitely helped, but didn't solve the problem. I plan on picking up some different polishes and eventually a da buffer, but for now this is all I have.

For a little background, I completed a full resto on a 86 Chevy short box Silverado, and am trying to polish the clear to show (or close) finish to really impress the client. I was taught some very awful techniques over the past few years, and may have caused much of the problems I am experiencing with my ignorance. Thanks to many of you, I have learned a great many things that have drastically reduced the amount of time it takes me to get close to the finish I want. Am sure that the final step would be a da polisher, but can't afford one till the customer pays. (kind of a paradox, huh?)

I am willing to let this one go, with some imperfections, as it is now winter here in central alberta canada, and this is his daily driver. I could resume the final polish in the spring.

Thanks for reading, and special thanks for any response.

Probably switch to a different polish. But sometimes if the paint isn't prep, correctly sometimes dirt or embedded particles can affect the polish. Maybe claying first and starting from there. Also, maybe you are not breaking down the polish enough.

I have no idea wht polish you are using. Never heard of Evercoat but it might be decent. Try starting out with a clean surface and go from there. You might want to use less polish also.
