Got my pc 7336 at my local lowe's today it was priced at $89.99 from $119.00 it said it was on clearance, they were only 5 left, after reading for about 2 hrs yestoday here, I decided to stop by today and by the 7336 insted of the 7424, well I went to pay for it and it rings up for $65.00 plus tax, I was shocked :woohoo: can't wait to get the pads and start using it.

there is a thread on here somwhere with a copy of receipts from lowes for less then $50

print it out take it to your lowes and they should match that price!

also if you can get more I am sure it would be easy to make a few bucks selling them here or elsewhere.

good luck

I believe that Lowe's is not making much money off of the PC7336 due to the lack of interest in the product (in general, definitely not when it comes to detailers :)) So they're clearing out their shelves.

That is how I bought one for $47.60. I printed off the receipt from that thread posted above. I showed it to the customer service desk and said politely, "can you price match this?". After all Lowes is Lowes. They did it. I am sure the manager didn't like it, but no push back.

i dont believe its lack of interest. Porter Cable got purchased, and supposedly they are not going to carry the name anymore.

I found one (7336) today for 58.00 + tax at Lowes in Tennessee. 'already have a 7424 but I thought it would be good for a back-up. On an interesting note, the box had a price of 98.50 but the shelf was tagged 58.60 so I had the paint desk scan it, $65.00 tax incl.

Hmmm... I did a little research:

" * 2004 - Black & Decker announced the purchase of the Tools Group from Pentair, Inc. (NYSE: PNR). The Tools Group, included the Porter-Cable, Delta, DeVilbiss Air Power, Oldham Saw, and FLEX businesses."

I also saw the SEC filings for Black & Decker on that transaction in 2004 from Pentair Tools Group. Also if you go here:

Porter-Cable - About Us - Overview - History

You see the company history of Porter Cable and it's intentions going forward.

In my opinion, PC has a strong brand name. I highly doubt the PC brand is going to go away. I just think what is happening with Lowes, it maybe flushing out inventory of PC to make room for more product and/or just discontinue it's relationship with the PC brand. Which is common with retailers.

If you purchased your PC within the last 7 days stop by Lowes and check the prices. If the price has gone down take your receipt to customer service and they will refund the orginal price and re-ring it at the lower price.

I just came back from lowes and I got a PC for $22.31! :woohoo:

The Lowes had 2 left. 1 new and one display model. I took the new one up to the customer service counter and presented them with a print of a recipt that listed the PC for 47.60. They happily matched that price, then I inquired how much the display model would be. She said 22.31!! :wow: So needless to say I bought them both!

Hopefully some of you might be able to take advantage of this deal. Here is my recipt and good luck. I had to drive an hour to find a store that had one near me.

BTW This is my first post. Love this place. Lots of info here.

Well I didn't have to much luck with the price match thing, they gave me 10% off, which is about another $7.00, is okay I'll take it, they gave me some BS about being a clearance item and it was out of stock, which I did check to see if they were anymore. so the cost was $59.00

Porter cable is due for a new model change soon to replace the 7424. I suspect it has something to due with the new flex model offered in Europe. Building one model instead of two will save them money and increase market saturation here and in Europe.

Keep your eyes open. I am waiting before I retire my orginal 7424 for the up date new model.
