Painted the frame on my 92 GMC C1500...

I had some time off work this past week so I set out to clean up and paint the frame on my truck. The body is in great shape after a thorough detailing earlier this spring, but the undercarriage was in need of some TLC.

I removed the wheels, scuffed the frame/suspension and gave her several coats of some satin black Krylon. It certainly approved the visual appearance...what little bit of the frame you can see anyway.

I'm still hopeful to be getting new wheels very soon if I can get paid for a couple more side jobs.

Anyway, here are the shots...before and after...

I wish I had you as a neighbor...so you could give me detailing lessons. And also so my wife (or other neighbors) wouldn't think I was the only obsessed car-cleaning freak on the street.:D
 
Looks good but if you put the Krylon over any bare metal I doubt that it will stick very long.

I did that to a old Ford pickup years ago but I spent weeks getting the rust off and I primed it with red oxide primer then sprayed the black.

I recently sold the truck but 30 years after I painted it their was still no rust just a somewhat faded black paint.

I always use the red oxide primer it will bond to bare metal and also stop rust.
