Hello!

I just bought a Porter Cable 7424 + Sonus Das Pad Kit(orange, green, blue pad) + Sonus Swirlbuster pad.

Detailing products that i have are:

Poorboy's SSR1, SSR 2 , SSR2.5

Zaino Z-PC

Zaino Z2pro, Zaino Z5, Z6,Z8,Z7

P21s Carnauba wax

Malco Imperal pastewax

Zaino Claybar

My car is a MB SL 500 -1993 ( color 744, brilliant silver). The paint is in pretty good condition, and when you check it with a good light, you will see spiderwebbing, swirls...

What would be the best "routine" with these products to detail this car ?

I will start detailing in couple of week, when a have a holiday weekend...

Ps. This board really rocks.. before I have just been waxing my car, and didn't care about swirls.. but now I want the perfect shine :)... and swirl-free finish..:waxing:

Cheers

Well, first off welcome to the site! Everyone will tell you that the "best" will always be different from one person to the next for the most part. I would recommend trying different combos of products and see which one you like. Only way your kinda find out is if you try them yourself. Remember, prep is key. A nicely preped car (clayed, defects removed, and polished) are always gonna make the end product look so much better so take your time on that part.

From the products you listed this is what I would do, and this is with the understanding you "need" ssr2.5

Wash

Clay ( Use your car wash soap as lube - no need in wasting detail spray)

Wash

SSR2.5 with a polishing pad. ( Remember, least aggresive first then take it from there - I can't see your paint from here ;-) so I don't know if you even need SSR2.5)

SSR1 with a finishing or polishing pad

Z2-Pro or Z5 ( I do not have any experience with Zaino but I sure someone will chime in on this one)

I also do not have experience with the Sonus Pads ( I use Edge 2000 Pads) so look at their website and use the appropriate pad with the correct product for the right reason. Take your time with the SSR2.5. "IF" you have to use it, I am assuming you do by you talking about swirls marks. You can maintine the car with either Z6 or Z8. Hope this gives you an idea and I'm sure more people will respond. If you do a search or just go looking through the different threads you will learn alot. Remember, take your time and be patient. You will get better results if you paintent when your doing the prep work.

thanks for the reply.

I'am going to take pictures of car this weekend.. and post them here.

I think that I'am going to try Sonus Das Blue-pad with Zaino ZPC, and if that dosen't do the job.. then it's time for poorboys.
