Hello everyone,

First post so if I commit a cardinal sin, please be as nice as possible. I will keep this brief.

Just picked up a Royal Blue Pearl Acura TSX

Just picked up the Porter Cable Orbiter from Lowes.

Here's where I'm stuck. What pads/backing plates, etc. do I get for this thing? The paint is brand new and I want to keep it looking that way. I'd love for someone to say you need to buy these specific pads/backing plates for your situation. I don't want to screw up this car!

In advance, thank you for your assistance and if you have any other info. you think I maybe able to use, please send your comments.

I bought the Sonus kit that came with Sonus pads and they're really nice. I just purchased a green and yellow excel pad and I really like those too. If I had to choose all over, I'd probably go with the excel pads/backing plate.

Do you have microfibers, polishes, sealant, carnauba etc?

I'm going through the same dilemma (just bought the PC), and think I have narrowed it down to either the Sonus SFX or the Excel pads. I emailed Patrick at Excel this morning, and he said he is thinking about "repackaging" the kits to include three different pads instead of one grey and two blue. I think I'm going to wait a couple days until the change hits his website to place my order.

I just ordered the SFX pad set from Autopia and a bunch of towels, micro's, sealent and other stuff. I looked at Excel's site but alot of the pads were out of stock. I've heard good things about the Sonus pads so I'm hoping for the best. Thanks for your replies.

Does the SFX kit require you to have a larger counterweight on the PC Orbital?

no, you can use the counterweight that came with your 7336 :waxing: . Click the button on top that says Learn! if you haven't already, you might find some good nuggets of info there.

I like those TSXs, post some pics and enjoy your ride and your stay here.

:welcome

I'd go with patrick's pads. I've never had a problem with the propel turbo's that I've used extensively. I also recently picked up a set of the larger 7" pads and don't expect any problems with those either. Plus patrick always includes a treat with your order so.... :D

Sonus, Meguiars etc will all give you good results. Using a normal polishing pad and polish, it would be very hard to do any damage to the car
