Need help with Optimum no rinse

I have read posts elsewhere that Dr G at Optimum is testing spongers (80 dpi or better) and is going to recommend (maybe sell) sponges for use with ONR as safe as microfiber. It will be interesting on how this develops.

I have just received a second prototype and I really like it. It is as soft as a finishing pad. They should be to market very soon.

schiddy, I'd recommend Opti-coat too. It's modern, versatile, and forgiving. Purchasing it a bit tough and annoying but if you have a pal who is pro detailer, well, it's no biggie.

Oh. Those are fighting words to some. I have only used the Uber sponge and not have seen any issues.

Its not so much about scratching for me as about getting into body seams, in the cowl areal and other tight places. The plush mf sponges get into spots the grout sponge misses. Also the MF sponges I buy are white so I can tell when a panel is clean and ready to be dried.

I had a 2008 Honda Accord - that pathetic white wash they have the nerve to call paint is without a doubt the worse sh!t I've ever seen. Don't blame the sponge, you could use a hemoroid wipe and still scatch that "paint".

I traded that car after a year, it was either that or just have it repainted.

BTW - I don't ONR, tried it - never liked it, found I could do better with my regular wash and I do use a grout sponge with no problems.

I'm with everyone else in saying it's your sponge that's not helping, and also that Honda's just have ridiculously soft paint from my experience. Almost as bad as Subaru's :wall

When did Subies start having soft clear? My last one was, uhmmm....gee.. what? I guess an '02 and is wasn't all that soft, easy enough to keep OK at least. Mighty thin though.
