Need Advice On Pc Purchase

Hi folks! Just trying to get some advice on purchasing a pc. I've been looking at a Porter Cable 7424 for a long time and just waiting to save up the funds for it, but I found a slightly used--very good condition Porter Cable 7336 and want to know what the differences are between the two. I did a search and someone mentioned that there are only a few parts I need to change on the 7336 to make it just like the 7424. My question is what parts do I need to change to make it work? BTW...I would just save up the the 7424 if this weren't such a good deal, she is only asking $25 for it!!!!!

Thanks in advance!!

I think the only difference is the counterweight. I don't think you need to change that. For $25 go for it.

buy it!

it is the same machine

it has the larger CW(IMO the best one to use, but there is little differance between them so don't buy the other one)

Buy it!

You don’t want it to be more like a 7424!

The biggest differentiation is that a machine labeled as a 7424 comes with the lame Porter-Cable foam pad, which is something you want to throw away anyway.

The 7336’s backing plate is better to have that the 7424’s pad. Although it’s better still to get an aftermarket flexible backing plate from Meg’s, Lake Country, National Detroit, etc.

PC.

That was a great read! Made my last hour of work go by much quicker!!! I'm going to pick it up tomorrow night!!!

Thanks!!!

Glad i found this page the other day, i just picked up a 7336 for $15 at a swap meet, I was having a hard time finding 7424/7336 anywhere near my house

Ok...so I was wrong on the buffer. It was actually a 7334 and NOT a 7336. It was only $25 so I bought it anyways and hope to make it work.
