Menzerna and different pads

Can someone comment on whether or not 85rd would be appropriate to use with a finishing pad on PC as a paint cleaner? I have some that I haven't had a chance to try yet, but am thinking about my pre-winter detail and which paint cleaner/light polish I'm going to use. I'm not that interested in paint correction, leaving that for next spring. But I want to get the paint nice and shiny and clean and ready for LSP for winter. Is 85rd OK for that or is it too abrasive?

Thanks!

I polish like PO85RD will do a decent job cleaning the paint but a dedicated product like a paint cleaner or AIO (examples of these would be Klasse AIO, Werkstat Prime, Zaino AIO, etc.) would probably clean the paint better. However, the PO85RD would probalby leave a better shine due to its very small abraisives.

I guess if you wanted to you could do both, first polish the paint with PO85rd and then clean the paint with a paint cleaner or AIO afterwards.

Or you could use Prime Strong or Optimum Poliseal which both will offer very good cleaning ability with a little polishing also.

IME, P085RD is very weak in cut. Using it on a finessing pad would not harm the paint at all. Using a polishing pad, it helps a tiny bit in little imperfections like micro-marring. Hope that helps.

Thanks, that helps. Good to know it shouldn't be abrasive at all with a soft pad. I know there are paint cleaners I have I can use, but I guess I'm anxious to try the stuff, and I'm not planning to use it otherwise until I try out the Power Finish and 85RD combo next spring.
