hello all i am looking to purchase a few megs product. i want to buy 83 and a couple other things. everyone says to buy 80 but napa doesnot sell it. my question is can i substitute any other meg products for it?

also napa can get alot of meg products i was going to pick up 40 with it.

any other product suggestions?

Not sure where you are but the NAPA I deal with either has both, or can order most any Meg's product. Sounds odd to me as #80 is a staple in their polish lineup and is used more than #83. Ask if they have it in stock in their area distribution center and have it shipped to your store. I shop in Lethbridge, Alberta and the dist. center is in Calgary, not exactly in the middle of nowhere but you can see it from here...

i cant find the megs 80 partnumber and the guy at the counter was being a d!ck. so i figured i couldnt get it. I want to buy from napa because i can get 25% off anything i can fit ina brown bag.

well back to my question any substitutes? or does anyone know naps part number for 80?

M8032 is Meguiar's own part number for the 32 ounce size of M80 Speed Glaze. M8001 is for the gallon.

The NAPA I buy from does carry a full line of Meguiar's and they are a corporate store, not an independent. I know several of the independents here stock it as well.

I did hear on the radio about the 25% sale this weekend. Could be a good opportunity to buy things.

If the counter guy was being that difficult, call back or re-visit some other time. Then again, when they're that difficult, I tend to not want to shop at that store.

nope. no 80 unless it has a way diff part number.

well are there anyother products that will polish the same?

9 or 2 maybe?

maybe 82 it has a abrasive of 3?

Whenever the NAPA I deal with has looked up part numbers they use the Meg's numbers as quoted above. I agree, try another clerk or ask for the manager. The guys I deal with are really good and if I order by ~ 3:00 PM it's on the truck the next morning early.

As I type, I'm on the phone with the corporate store here in town. They're checking for me.

I couldn't find it on the NAPA website, though NCBM prefixes that smprince1 listed fits for the other products.

OK-I was wrong

Just hung up-they do NOT show a part number for M80 Speed Glaze. He checked through each Meguiar's product in their cataglog as well as in the computer. He also walked to the shelf on a cordless and looked. He also said that if it's not in their listings, it wouldn't be available at other corporate owned stores.

His suggestion was that I try one of the independent NAPA stores since they do buy from other sources sometimes.

Calling one of the independents I buy from now

They have it. I asked about the corporate store and they said they didn't show a listing from them.

This independent is direct with another distributor that gets the full line of Meguiar's from them.

As far as M02 or M82....not direct replacements for M80.

M82 is much milder than M80. It does serve well as a final polish and will look great after M83. Where people say M80 is so good is on its own. You can use it to do a reasonable amount of correction via Cyclo, PC, or UDM and finish ready for LSP in one step. M82 wouldn't do as much correction.

M80 is one you can use as a finishing polish on most paints, but I can't say that I like M02 in that regard. If you run M82 after M02, I think the look is very good.

M09 is even milder than M82. I haven't used it on hardly anything since I started with M82. Many people complain that M82 just doesn't do anything in their situations: it's just that mild.

I'd pick up M83 and M82 if you can get those. They should do what you want and seem to be available from NAPA.

ill just buy 80 from another place. im going to buy 83, 40 and any other product i should buy?

I prefer my LC CCS pads over my Meg's pad. The quality of the Meg's pad seems to have changed because I bought some old, used one from a member here and his pads have been holding up really well, whereas my new pads, which were purchased from ADS and from Super AutoBacs, are all falling apart.

It's a clear difference though that somewhere, something changed because his foam and his velcro backing is completely different than mine in texture, softness, and appearance.

well ill just buy 80 at another place and 83 40 and some other stuff if you recomend me something.

i have almost nothing i have some tropicare swirl remover, mother 3 step, soap, pads, claybar.

i need tire wet, glaze(can i wax or seal over any megs glazes), interior products, tire brush wheel well brush, and anything anyone else suggests.

Meguiar's makes a ton of great products! I use their 83, 80, 9, 21 and am going to be getting some #7 this weekend. I'm also going to look for their Ultimate Quik Detailer as well.
