Megs APC VS APC +

So I tried searching and found numerous mixed thoughts. I looked at autogeek and I see they only have the green liquid APC not plus. I wanted to order something from AG, since my $10 coupon. So whats the difference besides the smell, since orange is citrus. Is the APC + for extractors? Who uses what?

thanks

I also searched and found this:

http://autopia.org/forum/detailing-product-discussion/94586-megs-apc-vs-megs-apc.html

also form Ads:

"All Purpose Cleaner

Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner is ideal for reconditioning all interior surfaces. The superior foaming action gently lifts the dirt away while its unique blend of fabric softeners and optical brighteners enhance the look and feel of carpet, upholstery, vinyl and even leather. "

"All Purpose Cleaner Plus

This all surface cleaner is ideally suited for today's fast paced, high volume, detail operations where one simple solution is needed for a variety of cleaning needs. It provides mixtures for heavy cleaning of engines and tires, fast interior cleaning, as well as low foam ratio for use in carpet and upholstery extraction machines. Leaves carpet clean, smelling pleasant, and the fibers soft with no sticky residue. Safe for clear plastic, glass and leather. "

I actually found that also before, but didnt really give a whole lot of information. Why does AG only have APC not APC +? So what is better? So can APC do interior and exterior also or just do interior?

It does seem to me like APC+ is more suited for inside/outside cleaning while the APC is better for just the inside.

I personally have APC+ and love it for everything.

AG probably doesnt have + b/c they dont feel like it.

Setec Astronomy,

This is a new formula Of APC+ it is under limited distribution. Like you stated it is not on Meg's site. It is being sold only by select distributors. Auto detailing solutions has it.

I like them both but plus has a better smell to me the standard version has a stronger fragrance.

Andrew.

Unless I'm mistaken, the APC+ was discontinued several years ago. It doesn't appear on the Meguiar's site.

The new APC+ is orange in color. http://www.autodetailingsolutions.com/2260_AllPurposeCleanerPlus.jpg

You are confused by people using the symbol " + " instead of typing the word "Plus." The "old skool" APC+ is no longer made and was blue in color. I believe that bottle used the " + "???

In fact, I still have about 32 ounces left that I dilute for interior work only.

Ha, that shows how long you've been around because the APC+ went out like 2 years ago or something!

I actually asked AG about stocking it during the summer and they said if I was seriously interested in some they would investigate. I told them I was not serious yet.

Yes the green apc is awesome. Perfect for well and wheels if diluted properly and much better IME than APC+ for interior fabrics/carpets when diluted about 10:1 to 15:1. Awesome for interior wipedowns/ jambs/everything. Get it. Its more than worth the 12 bucks

I think their super degreaser works great for exterior anyways, so I only use my APC on interior. Cant comment on the APC + though

I believe there was an APC+ that was discontinued a few years ago. This is a different version of APC+. It's a limited distribution product, that's why all stores don't carry it. I think there are currently 4 limited distribution products in the Meg's detailer line. I have both and like both. If I could only have one it would be APC+. APC (the green stuff) works great with a foaming sprayer where as APC+ (the orange stuff) is low foaming so it works better in a carpet extractor. ADS is the only place I know of to order the limited products. Hope that helps.

APC plus has stop being produced in order to limited the amount of similar, yet different products in the detailer line....

that is what I was told about 3 months ago from a rep from megs hotline...

so i ordered a 5 gal jug of it from ADS.com, and couldnt be happier

I dilute it 6"1 and it cleans everything on the inside of a car for me

I use megs safe degreaser for wheels and tires, and wells....works like a charm

I already have megs wheel brightner so APC wouldnt be for wheels. I just wanted it basically for APC, i guess interior cleaner and whatever. I dont know. My interior cleaner could be megs QID, thats what i use right now. My simple green is almost out, I dont know I use that for anything.

there are a few products in the detailer line that are in limited distribution and only sold to a select few authorized megs dealers. the apc plus being one of the products, as well as the water based dressing, and super soap...

What is the logic behind that? Why would the company with arguably the largest distribution network of any of the well-known brands on here limit the distribution of some products?

No idea you would think they would want to distribute to everyone.

i'm guessing one reason would be that those specific products may not be in production on a regular basis like the others, so they may not want to add it to their website and only offer them to the select megs dealers that probably deal mainly with just their products to give them more business. who knows... :nixweiss
