Making Silver Look Impressive? Dark cars have it easy...

vaca22- Interesting to me that you posted a pic of your Mazda when praising the Klasse twins. Much as I hated how they looked on Audi silver, I've been thinking that they really do look OK on my MPV. Not quite as nice as when I topped with #16, and maybe I'm just getting used to the look, but I *have* been admiring it lately (and it's not like I go around admiring my minivan as a general rule). Might be a case of one particular paint looking good with a particular LSP, wouldn't be the first time...

You bring up a good point!

My old C230 didn't quite look the same as the Mazda, I believe the silver paint on that car was a shade darker than the Mazda. I think even slightly different shades of silver can make a great difference. The Mazda pic was taken under partly cloudy (partly sunny?? :grinno: ) skies so it comes out a little darker there.

Here's another angle after some of the clouds passed...you can see how bright it really is in the sun.

I should probably mention that it's topped with S100 too.

It's already my pastime - it's just before I didn't get a whole lot of results out of the extra 10hrs a week i spent on it. At least now my obsession will reap noticable benefits :)

Ahheck01- Heh heh, OK, then I think you'll be getting a lot more satisfaction from your efforts :D

vaca22- Yeah, photographing that color is a little tricky, I forgot to adjust the exposure once and got a perfect looking picture...of my MPV with medium charcoal colored paint instead of silver

well for me, my mom has a silverstone metallic and i find that OP followed with UPP and OCW gives a nice wet look

VERY NICE! Looks super slick! Probably blinds other drivers on a sunny day!

OK well Iam a noob so I dont really know but is OP(optium polish) and I know Upp ultimate paint protection but what is OCW?

-Thanks Brandon

Also that s2000 looks great.

For me Zaino was the way to go, but Natty's Blue seems to do a great job as well. Natty's Blue seems to bring out the flakes much better , while Z2/ Z8 makes the paint look like it was covered with "molten wax". I dont know how to explain it any other way, but with the Zaino combo it just seems like ther eis a liquid layer of "something" on top of it.

Here are two pictures, which are both in direct sunlight, so kind bad but I ll post them anyways.

This one is Zaino Z-PC with 3 coats of Z2Pro finished with Z8.

This one is the same thing about 7 months later(there was a Z2pro 3 layer in between, about 3 months earlier), with just a coat of Nattys Blue.

In June I am finally moving into a house with a garage and then there will be some serious reworking on the cars. Cant wait.

Here's FK 2180 x3 + Pink Wax x2 + Fx100. First time using them and I'm pretty happy considering how light the color is.
