Looking for Water Based Tire Shine

Alfisti: What does the FX look like once it's applied and dried?

If you have a pic, I'd love to see it.

Thanks!

Get a 1/2 gallon of AA at Chinamart for 11$ & some change. Depends on how old your tires are, etc. My tires are only 6 months old, so anything I apply looks ok.

I still love this stuff but I can't find it locally any more. I switched to the Eagle One No Drip Gel and it's just as nice.

Meguiars Hyper Dressing, as mentioned before. Varying ratios of dilution; the gallon will last you like 15 years :).

Application is basically weekly, though.

Unlike their purple Endurance Gel, which looks similar to Z16 (is that the name?) after it has cured for 1 day. And the Gel remains that way for 3+ weeks. I haven't applied anything to my tires, going on 4 weeks now.

Your best bet for a high shine water-based dressing is going to be Meguiar's Hyper Dressing. You can dilute it to get just the shine that you want. Get a sample size from ADS and try it out.

This is one of those really touchy subjects, because everyone likes a different look on their tires. Some like the overly glossy shine, others completely matte.. I'm in-between, I like just a touch of gloss - the "new tire" look. VRT accomplishes the look I like and it doesn't gum up the tires with grease.

Zaino Z-16 is really good.

Lately, I've been using Finish Kare 108 Top Kote Tire Dressing a lot. It keeps tires looking brand new. I am not into glossy tires, so I wipe it off after 10-15 minutes. But I suppose if you just let it dry without wiping, it would give you a shinier look.

Z16 plus there are a ton of other plastic pieces you can apply it too. The best thing about Z16 is that it blackens a ton and has a very glossy shine on the second coat. Also there is not a mess to clean up on the tires the next time you go to reapply it.

Is Z16 water based?

From what I've read about it, it is.

After reading about DG 253 being like Z-16, I went and bought some. It works very well. It's still on my tires after multiple washes, and rain storms. Plus you get more in the bottle (19oz VS 16oz) and it's cheaper in price than the Z16.

i've used HD at 1:1 at did not care for it, it attracted dust and sling was present as well (yes, i applied it thoroughly as i do with many other tire dressings i've used). i do love it however at 3:1 for dressing wells, engines, etc. some may like it at 1:1 for tires, but just wasn't for me...

Wow, that wheel looks really shiny,

what did you use on it akimel?

I didn't do the work. Tuck91 (aka Nick) is the tire man over at MOL. He tries all sorts of different tire dressings and posts his pics. He does like shiny dressings. I think All Season is his favorite dressing, but I believe that ASD is solvent-based.

As noted, one can dilute Hyper Dressing and find the one shine that you really prefer.

I myself prefer the matte, low-gloss dressings. My favorite right now is Mother's Reflections Tire Care. This is an overlooked product and sells for a great price.

I have also had good experience with Showroom FX "White Pearl" Tire/Trim Dressing. Some folks think it looks like Swissvax Pneu.
