Lexus Paint Restoration

On Wed evening I had the owner of this restoration pick up his car....Mazda Protege Restored Needless to say me and the woman were exhausted from that. I knew I had "Tom's" Lexus coming to me on Thursday so we slept in



It was truly a pleasure working on his car. He is a very knowledgable owner, and knew exactly what I was taling about when I was explaining things to him.



He dropped it on Thursday evening...I got to work first thing on Friday morning. I pulled it out and checked out what I was working with.

As usual I pulled the wheels to de-grease the wheel wells and allow the fiance to take care of the wheels... As always she does AMAZING work...

I pulled the car back inside and clayed the entire car with DoDo juice and mothers clay. Started inspectiong the paint.. Thanks for the pic JP It really was difficult to see the marks on the paint. Only from certain angles could you see some of the blemishes.

I started with 203 on an orange pad. I wasn't seeing the correction that I wanted so I moved up to SIP on an orange....NOPE...I went to purple wool with SIP and that did it. Although it took longer I knew that the wool pad would be the way to go so I decided to go SIP wool, 203 on an orange down to 106 on a white pad. I was getting some pretty good correction with this setup so I continued.

Even the door sills were detailed. I pulled the plates to allow for the lottle lady to ONR the area and then I sealed it. We made sure Sill and area was cleaned and covered

Although I was doing exterior only we did a nice wipe down inside and wiped down the seats. Of course a wipe down always goes a little further I taught the woman well

So finishing up...Whew that sucker had alot of surface area to it I finished with ez-creme glaze and Blackfire sealant. The wheel wells were dressed with fade2black. Trim was dressed with 303, I normally use opti-trim dressing but as discussed with the owner he prefered the UV protection of 303 Tires were dressed with opti-bond tire gel. And a quick wipe down on the engine bay.

Tom came to pick it up and I let him pull it out as it rained today and the leaves were falling, I didn't want anything falling on the car. :thumbsup:
